Ladies, Do You Know Your Penis Facts?

Ladies, hopefully the man or me n in your life is everything you want him to be – considerate, kind, attentive, intelligent, sexy, and good in bed. But even the near-perfect mate (because let’s face it, nobody’s really perfect) may have some aspects which are a bit of a mystery to you. For example, no matter how willing (and indeed eager) a man may be to share his penis with you, there are things about his penis which you may still not quite understand or know about. With that in mind, the following penis facts are presented, to help ladies know about their man’s little (or not so little) best friend.

Basic penis facts

- Average size has been exaggerated. For many years, the average erect penis size was said to be six inches. However, a recent study (one of the few such studies which was well designed and therefore is more likely to be closer to accurate) found that the average erect penis is actually just shy of 5.2 inches. The vast majority of men have a tool that measures between 4 and 6 inches.

- He starts (and started) early. Most men wake up with morning wood, which is to say that when they arise to greet the day, their penis has already risen. That’s because the parasympathetic nervous system is responsible for erections, and it is much more active during the night. In addition, testosterone levels impact erections, and testosterone goes up o while a man sleeps. Interestingly enough, those erections precede his entry into the world; science has shown that male babies get erections while still in the womb. (To some ladies, that will come as no surprise whatsoever.)

- It can’t be technically broken. Despite guys calling an erection a boner, there actually are no bones in the penis –and so technically a guy cannot “break” his penis. But that doesn’t mean it can’t be injured. While erect, the penis can undergo a boneless fracture, which is often accompanied by a popping sound, if it slams against something or is slammed into something. This causes penile tissue known as the tunica albuginea to tear.

- It’s not just one tube. Although the penis looks like one tube (or, to some, a hose), it is actually made up on the interior of three tubes. Two of them are called the corpus cavernosum and one in between these two is called corpus spongiosum.

- Many are insecure about their friend. Even many men who are perfectly well endowed and who are quite good in bed may still feel insecure about the size, shape, looks, functionality, or general appeal of their penis. A little praise from the ladies can be helpful for these men; even some guys who are full of macho swagger may deep down be using that to mask worries they have about their manhood.

- Obese men may see their penis “shrink.” When a man gains weight, at a certain point the “pad” that surrounds his penis can become fat as well – and that fat may “swallow up” the base of his penis, making his penis (or that which is still visible) shorter. Women with chubby lovers whose health would be improved if they lost weight might use the fact that a thinner man means a longer penis to inspire them.

Ladies, one more of our penis facts deserves note: men need to work on penis health just as they do other health issues. One thing they can do is apply a first class penis health oil (health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven mild and safe for skin) regularly. The best oils will contain both L-arginine and L-carnitine. The former is an amino acid which helps increase blood flow to the penis when required. The latter has neuroprotective qualities which can aid in maintaining proper penis sensitivity through the years.

Penis Facts and Fiction

Just because a person owns an impressive car doesn’t mean he knows everything about the intricate workings of its engine or the truth about how many miles per gallon it really gets. For the same reason, a man may have a penis but that doesn’t mean he’s up to speed on all penis facts – especially when those facts deal with penis health. Yet separating penis facts from fiction is important in truly understanding one’s penis and knowing how to treat it.

See if you can tell which of the following are penis facts vs. fiction.

“Once the penis is in a rigid erect state, it loses flexibility.”

This would seem like an obvious fact to any man who has observed his proudly erect penis – but in fact it is fiction. While the erect penis does become very hard, it still maintains a degree of pliability – such that scientists have found that many times it can become almost boomerang-shaped if a given sex position requires it.

“More men are growers rather than showers.”

That is a fact. According to a survey, 79% of men are growers (that is, their penis is relatively short when flaccid but expands significantly when erect) and 21% are showers (that is, their flaccid penis is relatively long and expands less significantly when erect.)

“The glans developed to help displace competitor’s semen.”

Surprisingly, that’s fact not fiction. The shape of the glans helps to “scoop out” semen which may have been deposited by a previous lover. It was more of an issue during caveman days, but a fact is a fact.

“A guy can only rupture his penis during wild partner sex.”

That’s fiction, actually. It turns out that a penile rupture more often occurs when a man is vigorously masturbating than when having sex with a partner.

“The phrase “use it or lose it’ applies to the penis.”

That’s a fact. The penis needs to be “exercised’ to stay healthy – whether through masturbation or partner-based sex. Basically, the smooth muscle in the penis requires oxygen to stay healthy, and it gets that oxygen when loads of fresh blood rush into the penis during the erection phase. So masturbating or having sex helps the penis stay healthy and in better shape.

“Penis sensitivity tends to decrease with age.”

Sadly, a fact. As a man ages, the sensory threshold of his penis – that is, the point at which he is able to sense the slightest degree of sensation – lessens. This can have several potential impacts, from making erection more difficult to attain and/or maintain to delaying a man’s ability to ejaculate.

“Semen is not a diet drink.”

A fact. Some years ago, it was batted about that semen was a low-calorie, low-carb beverage. In fact, it is mostly fructose – and considering the small amount of semen typically ejaculated at one time, it is relatively high in calories and in carbs. So claiming that it’s good for a person watching their figure is actually a lousy argument for convincing someone to give a guy oral sex.

“About 12% of men have a micropenis.”

Fiction – less than 1% of men have a penis that actually qualifies as a micropenis. However, one study found that 12% of men were worried their penis was so small that it was a micropenis – indicating again that many men have unrealistic ideas about penis size.

One of the more important penis facts (And this is no fiction) is that men need to take steps to maintain penis health. An excellent way to do this is to daily apply a first class penis health creme (health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven mild and safe for skin). It pays to look for a crème that contains both L-carnitine and L-arginine. The former is neuroprotective and can help protect the penis from diminished sensitivity. And the latter is an amino acid which helps blood vessels expand, so that more oxygen-rich blood can reach the smooth muscle when needed.

Penis Facts You Didn’t Learn on the Street

Sure, a guy’s penis has been with him ever since he was born – but how well does the average Joe really know his favorite personal appendage? And since he learned a lot of his information “on the street,” so to speak, how much of that information is maybe not 100% true? In the interests of better penis health and an informed penis-owning population, the following penis facts are presented for reader edification.

Penis facts

- A guy can’t really break his penis. Although one often hears talk of a dude having a sexual encounter that goes devastatingly wrong, it’s technically impossible to fracture or break the penis. That’s because the penis doesn’t actually have a bone inside it – despite the nickname boner being applied to a stiff erection. When a man does have what is called a penile fracture, it refers to a tear occurring in the tunica albuginea, the membrane surrounding the soft, spongy tissue in the penis.

- The penis does a lot of ejaculating. One source estimates that the average man ejaculates 7,200 times during his lifespan. (assuming an active sex life of 50 years, that’s 144 times per year.) Approximately 2,000 of those ejaculations occur during masturbation; whether that surprises an individual depends upon his own rate of masturbation, of course.

- And it ejaculates at an impressive speed. According to one measurement, the average rate of speed of an ejaculation is 28 miles per hour.

- More grow, fewer show. Most men tend to be growers – having a penis which is relatively small when flaccid and grows substantially when erect – than showers – men whose flaccid length is much closer to their erect length. One survey puts the figure at 79% growers, 21% showers.

- Erections don’t wait for birth to begin. Thanks to advances in technology, we now know that little boy fetuses get just as excited as their adult counterparts. Males begin sprouting erections in the womb sometime around the third trimester.

- Nighttime is the right time for erections. On average, a man will get erect 11 times during the course of the day – however, 9 of those occur at night, many of them while he is sleeping.

- A guy’s penis is longer than he thinks it is. Really. Men (and some women) obsess about penis size, so maybe it will make a guy feel better to realize his manhood is actually much longer than he thinks. About half of the penis is inside a man’s body. No, it may not be visible, but it’s there.

- Men were encouraged to eat cornflakes to stop masturbating. Throughout history, there have been some people who inordinately feared the supposed consequences of masturbation. John Harvey Kellogg (of the popular cereal company) believed that his cornflakes could help dampen the sexual impulses that could lead to masturbation (as well as inappropriate fornication). However, there are plenty of dedicated cornflake fans who could testify to the fact that this plan simply didn’t work.

- The penis shape helps prevent impregnation by another man. Many scientists believe that the pronounced head of the penis evolved to help a man foil his rivals. It is believed that if a man penetrated a woman who had recently been penetrated by another male, the glans could help “scoop out” semen deposited by a rival before it reached the egg.

There are other penis facts a guy can’t learn on the street, including the need to pay special attention to penis health on a regular basis. To do this, regular application of a first rate penis health creme (health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven mild and safe for skin) is required. For best results, a crème should contain both L-arginine and L-carnitine.. The former is an amino acid which helps boost nitric oxide and therefore helps keep penile blood vessels open and expanded when necessary. The latter has neuroprotective properties which can help to protect penis sensation, especially when the instrument is roughly handled.

Penis Facts: Handy Sex Tips

Just because a guy has a penis doesn’t mean he knows everything there is to know about it, no matter how much quality time he spends with it. There are many penis facts - some basic, some obscure - that lots of guys don’t know (although hopefully they know enough basics to keep their penis health covered). And sometimes those penis facts can fall into the area of sex tips, which is something most guys are interested in. Not that most guys really ever need any sex tips, of course!

Still, for any guy curious to test his knowledge of penis facts and sex tips, the following can come in handy.

- Most guys don’t need huge condoms. Okay, so all guys like to claim that their members are incredibly massive. It’s just part of being a dude. But it’s important to not let that claim cause a guy to purchase the wrong size condom, just to save face. Only about 6% of men need the extra-large condoms - and if a guy isn’t part of that 6%, he needs to just face up to it. Wearing a condom that is too large means it might slip off during sex, or that it will be loose enough that semen might drip out - and that defeats the purpose of a condom.

- Size can be dependent on method of erection. Some studies have indicated that a man’s erection will be slightly longer when measured after oral sex or intercourse as compared to when measured after simply becoming erect through non-physical arousal. So it may pay to have a little round of oral sex before inserting into the vagina.

- The penis works all night. Most men average between three to five erections while they sleep. This nocturnal workout helps to keep the penis healthy, working on its tone and elasticity. Men who do not experience nocturnal erections may have some sexual function issues, and so should discuss any lack of nighttime erections with their doctor.

- Foreskin is rich in Langerhans cells. Langerhans cells, which are more susceptible to HIV, are abundant in the foreskin. This means that intact men need to take extra care (such as wearing a condom) to help prevent acquisition of HIV.

- Size dissatisfaction doesn’t always make sense. Many men who believe that their penis is too small actually have a penis that is of normal size - or even larger. It’s important to understand (1) that size matters only up to a point and that the vast majority of men have penises that are capable of providing pleasure, and (2) focusing too much on penis size, especially when one’s penis is of a decent size, can lead to sexual dysfunction.

- Smoking is bad for a penis. Some studies indicate that cigarette smoking can actually cause the penis to shrink a little. However, the bigger problem is that smoking can have a bad impact on circulation, making it more difficult for the penis to get the amount of blood it needs to achieve and maintain an erection.

One of the most important penis facts (which can also double as one of the sex tips): Guys need to take special steps to ensure their penis health. One of the most basic steps is to regularly apply a first rate penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven mild and safe for skin). The best crèmes will include an amino acid known as L-arginine. This ingredient is a crucial part of the process by which nitric oxide is produced - and nitric oxide plays a big role in keeping penile blood vessels open so they can accommodate increased blood flow. Also important in a crème is vitamin C, a key component of collagen, a tissue in the body that gives skin its tone and elasticity and is vital for penile erections.

Penis Facts? Or Penis Myths?

Considering how much attention a man tends to focus on his manhood, it’s surprising that some men aren’t aware that some so-called penis facts would be better labeled as penis myths. Some of the myths are relatively harmless, of course, and don’t negatively impact penis health or other important areas of a man’s life. But others really do need to be dispelled.

Below are several statements which could be penis facts or penis myths. Try to determine which is which.

The bigger the better.

Definitely a myth. Oh, sure, a large penis can have its advantages. It can be visually impressive, which in some instances may spark excitement in a partner. But it can also have the opposite effect, if a woman worries about fitting a large penis inside her vagina. But regardless, it is well documented that what is of greater value than size is the skill with which a man operates the equipment. A big penis conveys bragging rights on a guy, but once in the sack, he has to prove that he can live up to them - and that’s where skill trumps size.

Shoe size indicates penis size.

Once again, this is a myth - but it’s easy to see why this has received so much play over the years. The supposition that big feet would mean a big penis comes from the idea that big feet are more often associated with a taller man, and if he needs big feet to balance his tall frame, surely his penis must grow a commensurate length. But numerous studies have shown that this isn’t so, and that a man with a size 6 shoe may easily have a bigger member than a guy with a size 13.

The average erect penis is between five and six inches long.

A penis fact. Although for years men loudly proclaimed that the average penis was a minimum of six inches, more recent studies place it at a little over five inches. So lots of men who worried that they were below average are actually right in line with what is typical.

A guy can break his penis.

Another fact. Although there isn’t a bone in the penis, it can still be fractured - although this is thankfully a very rare occurrence. Almost as rare as it is painful. So if there isn’t a bone, what gets broken? It’s the tissue known as the tunica albuginea, which cover the corpora cavernosa. Fracturing it requires that it be hit with great force or thrust against a hard object at great force. And it can only occur when the penis is erect; when flaccid, it is not rigid enough to break.

Semen is a nutritious drink.

Essentially a myth. Sure, semen does have some nutrients, as does practically every food or drink. But its nutritional benefits are really minor. Trying to convince a partner to swallow on the basis of its nutritional assets is a losing argument.

Most penises have slept with dozens of sex partners.

Myth. While men like to brag about all the women they have had sex with, surveys indicate that the average man only sleeps with about 6-8 women in his lifetime. And about 20% of men have only one sex partner their entire lives.

One of the most important penis facts to remember is the importance of penis health. And it’s not on the myths list that a first class penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven mild and safe for skin) can provide many vitamins and nutrients that are valuable in keeping the penis healthy. When selecting a crème, take time to inspect the ingredients. Does it have a wide range of vitamins, such as A, B5, C, D and E? It’s important to get a good "bang for the buck" in terms of the vitamins available to the penis. It’s also helpful if the crème contains alpha lipoic acid, a potent antioxidant that keeps free radicals at bay and thereby helps ensure healthier penis skin.

Penis Quiz: Surprised by These Penis Facts?

The penis may be a man’s best friend, but there are still penis facts that many men may not know - or only think they know. Just as with human best friends, sometimes there is more to a guy’s favorite appendage than may be immediately obvious - and sometimes what’s secret could have an impact on penis health. So with that in mind, guys are encouraged to take the simple quiz to see how up to par they are with their penis facts.

1. True or False: The human penis has one large bone in it.

False. Despite the fact that erections are commonly called "boners," the human penis has no actual bones in it. Some non-human penises do have bones, however.

2. True or False: The penis retains the same degree of sensitivity throughout its lifetime.

False. Most men tend to lose some sensation in their penis as they age. In addition, many men lose some sensitivity due to trauma or to rough or aggressive handling during sex.

3. True or False: There’s a lot of penis that a person just can’t see.

True. When the penis is erect, only about half of the total organ is visible. The rest of the penis - the part referred to as the "root" of the penis - extends inside the body. (It’s similar to how the roots of a tree are underground and may stretch for a distance longer than the part of the tree that is above ground.)

4. What term refers to a man obtaining an erection after being hanged to death?

A. Disgusting
B. The Deathly Hardening
C. Angel Lust
D. Post-Passing Pleasure

While it’s possible any of the above could be considered correct, C is the official answer.

5. What is the term for an erection caused by sexual fantasies?

A. Disgusting
B. Psychogenic
C. Fantasty-ific
D. Va-Voomers

The correct answer is B, although many men have their own terms for these erections.

6. What is the average number of erections an adult male gets in one day?

A. One
B. Five
C. Eleven
D. Eighteen

The answer is C, eleven; however, some men may get more or fewer on a regular basis and still be perfectly healthy.

7. Which of the following is NOT a common penis skin issue?

A. Fordyce spots
B. Psoriasis
C. Contact dermatitis
D. Peripheral nerve damage

Peripheral nerve damage (D) does occur in the penis, but it is not considered a skin issue.

8. True or False: If a man has an erection lasting 90 minutes or more, he is suffering from priapism.

False. Most doctors define priapism as an unrelenting erection that lasts for four hours or more. However, if a man experiences a painful erection that won’t go down, he should consult a doctor, even if it has not been ongoing for four hours. (Long-term and unrelieved erections can cause serious damage to sensitive penile tissue.)

9. Worldwide, more men have intact foreskins rather than circumcised penises.

True. Somewhere around 2/3 of men the age of fifteen and up possess their foreskins.

It’s important to know basic penis facts. One of the most important is that attending to penis health is crucial; regularly using a top drawer penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven mild and safe for skin) can aid in this quest. Those concerned with maintaining a proper degree of penis sensitivity should use a crème with acetyl L carnitine, which is neuroprotective and helps guard against the peripheral nerve damage from rough handling that diminishes penile sensation. It’s also advised to select a crème with potent moisturizing capabilities to attend to rashes and the itchiness that accompanies them. A crème with both a high-end emollient (such as Shea butter) and a natural hydrator (such as vitamin E) is well positioned to provide superior hydration to the penis skin.

The Erect Penis: 7 Facts You Might Not Know

From an early age, the erect penis becomes a man’s special best friend. Over the course of his lifetime, a guy spends quite a lot of time with this firm friend. He’s there in the morning when a man wakes up and pops up regularly throughout the day. Hopefully, every guy is taking steps to ensure the best penis care for this special pal so that he stays happy and healthy. And part of proper care is just knowing a few basic facts about an erect penis.

With that in mind, here are a few things that a guy may or may not already know about his tumescent member.

1) Scientists classify erections in three categories.

To most guys, a penis is erect or it isn’t. Scientists, though, like to be more specific and so use three different categories when discussing erections: reflexogenic, psychogenic and nocturnal. Basically, reflexogenic means an erection caused by some form of physical stimulation. Psychogenic describes an erection created in response to one’s own fantasies and thoughts. And, not surprisingly, nocturnal are those erections that pop up while a guy is sleeping.

2) Boys get erect while still in the womb.

With all the ultrasounds and various other gadgets now used for monitoring the fetus, doctors have discovered that little boy fetuses start having erections somewhere around 16 weeks of age. Well, guys will be guys.

3) The penis needs a decent amount of blood to get firm.

As most men know, a rush of blood into the penis is what causes the organ to swell and stiffen. An average of 4.5 ounces of blood is needed to achieve the erection process. For the area involved, that’s a fairly large amount.

4) Doughnuts can make a guy excited.

That may seem strange, but a study indicated that the smell of baking doughnuts can increase blood flow to the penis by about 13%. It may not produce a full-blown erection, but it does cause a bit of stirring down there.

5) Men average about 14-16 erections in a 24-hour period.

There is variation in this, of course, and some teen-agers may feel that they never stop having an erection. But studies show that the typical man has 11 erections while he is awake during the day. At night, he will have 3 to 5 more during his sleep phases.

6) Erections have something in common with electricity.

This may seem odd, but nitric oxide, which increases the blood flow to the penis to create an erection, is produced by lightning in nature. (Fortunately, there are many other ways to get nitric oxide other than being struck by lightning.)

7) More erections are good for a man.

"Use it or lose it" is true for penis health as it is for many other things. Having sex, whether with oneself or a partner, helps maintain the proper functioning of the organ. So using those erections helps to keep the penis in better health.

Erect penis facts are fun to know and share, but they are also very important. The more a man knows about his member, the more able he is to be comfortable with it and keep it healthy. One excellent way to maintain that health is via the regular use of a top-notch penis health crème(health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil). Choose a crème with L-arginine; like the lightning mentioned above, L-arginine is part of the process that creates nitric oxide, which helps keep penile blood vessels open. It also helps to use a crème that includes vitamin C. This vitamin’s health benefits include being an important structural component of blood vessels and aiding in collagen production for penile tissue firmness. Using a crème like Man1 Man Oil has important benefits for any man.

Penis Facts: Developing Positive Male Body Image

When it comes to male body image, men’s ideas are likely shaped by the images they see in various media. Weight and muscle mass are two popular areas of concern for men, but particularly notable are body image issues surrounding the penis. Anxiety about what is “normal” and “right” for the penis can range from the occasional nuisance to chronic stress that creates mental and sexual health problems. Part of good penile care is maintaining a positive view of what one is packing. Guys should consider the following penis facts next time they’re feeling worried about their members.

  1. Bumps (benign)

Some men have bumps on their penises that are natural anatomical variations and nothing to be concerned about. Of course, if a man is unsure as to what kind of bumps he has, or noticed them appear suddenly, he should seek diagnosis to ensure they are not harmful or contagious. But if he has Fordyce spots or pearly penile papules, he has nothing to be concerned about.

Fordyce spots are small white or yellow dots on the penis; they are oil glands that hold fluids that lubricate the skin. On some guys, they are visible. Some women also have them on the vulva, and some people have them in their mouths.

Pearly penile papules are white bumps that form in one or more rows on the ridge of the penile head, resembling a pearl necklace. They are more common in uncircumcised men.

While the penises men are accustomed to seeing in adult videos don’t likely have these anatomical variations, this in no way means that they are ugly or bad in some way. Try to think of them as a unique feature.

  1. Curvature

Another common feature of the porn penis is straightness. However, penis curvature is not a rare thing. What is more, it can actually be a true pleasure in the bedroom for partners. A penis that curves up, down or to the side can stimulate areas of the vagina that a straight manhood would have difficulty hitting. A man should only be concerned about curvature if it interferes with sex (including if it causes partners pain) or masturbation.

  1. Size

Size is likely the most common penile concern by far. For some reason, guys think an 8” monster is the gold standard, but 1) this is way longer than the average range (4.5-6”) and 2) an average-sized penis is plenty capable of providing pleasure. In fact, many women are wary of very big penises.

  1. Foreskin

Is foreskin unclean? Ugly? Cultural misconceptions would have one answer yes, but when one really thinks about it, the answer is just as easily no. If a man takes proper care of what he has, then foreskin is not unclean. He must simply wipe away smegma to inhibit bacterial buildup. And there’s nothing inherently ugly about skin. Men should keep in mind that perception is influenced by many things, and understanding that his foreskin is neither unnatural nor unclean can help him see it as not only acceptable, but possibly even an attractive feature.

The role that proper care plays in how one looks and feels should not be underestimated. Guys who are working to improve their body image should, then, also take steps to take better care of themselves, and that includes the penis. Along with showing it plenty of love in the form of solo play and proper washing, guys can start using a penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil). This product is a real treat for penile skin, with natural moisturizers (Shea butter and vitamin E) to combat and prevent dryness. Vitamin A is another key ingredient that can help fight bacteria and cut down on unwanted odors. Look good, feel good and take good care.

Penis Facts You Didn’t Learn in Sex Ed Class

By the time a guy becomes an adult, he may think there are no new penis facts left to learn. After all, between that boring sex ed class (which did feature a few good pictures, it’s true) and his own experiments and bull sessions with other guys, it may seem like there’s nothing left to know. But that’s not always so, and some of the things one can still learn can have an impact on one’s ongoing good penis health. With that in mind, the following are several penis facts that are foreign to many men.
- Erections start before birth. Some guys feel like they’ve been hard since the day there were born, but the truth is that men get their first erections in the womb. Ultrasound images indicate that male fetuses exhibit erect penises during the third trimester of pregnancy. Even before birth, a guy’s best pal is keeping him company.
- It’s bigger than a guy may think. Yes, guys obsess about size, but a dude’s penis is much longer than it may appear. That’s because approximately half of the tool is inside the body. That may not help in practical terms, but it does give a guy a legitimate reason to claim to have an 8 incher.
- Cigarettes cause shrinkage. Smoking is simply bad news, but especially for a guy who wants to show off the size of his rod. That’s because smoking causes blood vessels to constrict. When this goes on over a long period of time, the penis skin’s elasticity diminishes, which in turn affects the ability of the penis to expand. Also a factor: the constricted blood vessels prevent blood from flowing as freely to the tool, which can affect the firmness and also add to a shorter erection.
- The brain doesn’t give all the orders. While the brain is generally the big guy in charge of many bodily activities, it doesn’t play a role in when a man ejaculates. That command comes from the spine.
- The penis reflects brain dominance. Whether a penis hangs to the left or the right generally reflects whether a guy is left brain dominant or right brain dominant. The area of the brain which is dominant influences such things as capability with spatial relationships and mathematical ability.
- Erections contribute to penis health. Guys get lots of erections and their brains are hardwired to give them strong sexual urges. There are many reasons for this, but one is because frequent erections and sex help to keep the penis in good health.
- Bacteria like the penis. One study found 42 different kinds of bacteria typically inhabit a guy’s penis. Not all of those are bad, fortunately, but it does seem ridiculously diverse.
- Penises can lose sensation. Most men report gradually losing some sensitivity in their tool as they age. In addition, rough handling or trauma can cause peripheral nerve damage that can significantly affect penis sensitivity.
While one’s sex ed class may not have taught all there is to know, most guys come out of it with some important penis facts – such as the necessity of keeping the tool healthy. That's why regular use of a quality penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil) is crucial. For example, with all that bacteria on the penis, a crème with an ingredient that fights bacteria, such as vitamin A, is essential, especially in terms of decreasing unwanted and persistent penile odors. Tools that have lost sensitivity respond to a crème with a neuroprotective ingredient like acetyl L-carnitine, which helps restore sensation. And a powerful antioxidant (such as alpha lipoic acid) in a crème will fight harmful oxidative processes that cause the penis to take on an aged and wrinkled look. The most important penis fact: use a penis health crème regularly!

Sex Myths and Penis Misconceptions that Bring a Man Down

Though people have been having sex and men have had penises since the dawn of man, there are still many popular misconceptions about the body and what one should do with it. Many sex myths and penis misconceptions create undue distress and self-consciousness for men that may interfere with a healthy sex life and self-conception; others can lead to unsafe practices. Since sex is an important component of penis health and overall well-being, men are advised to get the facts straight on their bodies and one of their favorite activities. Dispensing with the following myths is a good place to start.

1) The 8-Inch Myth
Many men feel inadequate in terms of penis length because they have the idea that the average erect penis should protrude a full 8 inches from the pelvis. This is actually extremely rare. Men can rest assured that the average length ranges from 5.5-6.3 inches.

2) Size Matter a Lot
It’s true that a long penis can easily stimulate sensitive areas within the vagina that some (certainly not all) women enjoy, such as the posterior and anterior fornixes, located beyond the cervix. However, a shorter penis can still bring great pleasure by stimulating the G-spot, which is only a few inches within the vagina on the anterior wall. Men with shorter members can also get a deeper feel for both himself and his partner by using from-behind positions and asking partners to squeeze their thighs together.

3) Circumcision is the Norm
Adopting a global perspective undoes this idea. While 35% of newborns in the U.S. were uncircumcised, according to a CDC report in 2009, nearly 70% of males around the world remain intact. And, hey, 35% isn’t a drastic minority.

4) She Should Orgasm Vaginally
Some men think that, if they can’t bring a lady to release with their penis alone through penetration, then they are doing something wrong. According to Elizabeth Lloyd, author of The Case of the Female Orgasm, only about a quarter of women achieve orgasms vaginally. Most women need clitoral stimulation to get there, and there is nothing wrong with that. A man can, however, increase the intensity of her orgasm by hitting her pleasure zones internally (such as the G-spot) while the clitoris is being stimulated.

5) He Should Last an Hour
While some partners prefer long sessions of lovemaking, the amount of time a couple takes should depend on individual preferences and abilities, not some arbitrary idea of how much stamina a man "should" have. Research indicates that three to seven minutes of continual thrusting is all most men can take before releasing. If a couple desires longer sessions, taking breaks to switch up position and slowing down at times may help make that happen.

6) The Penis Can’t Break
It’s true that there are no bones in the penis, so it can’t break like the forearm or other bones in the body. But penile fracturing is a real, though rare, phenomenon. What fractures in this instance is one or both corpora cavernosa - the chambers within the penis that fill up with blood to make it hard. When one or both chambers rupture, the blood rushes out, causing immediate bruising along with a loud popping sound and excruciating pain. Men should be careful when a female partner is on top; careless re-entry can cause penile fracturing.

In order for men to have a healthy sex life, they need to dispense with misconceptions that make them needlessly self-conscious of their bodies and their performance. Sex is personal, and what is right for a pair of partners depends on the partners themselves, not cultural ideas of how things should be in bed. Along with educating themselves about body and sex myths, men can take an extra step toward boosting confidence by using a penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil). Just as a skin care product designed for the face promotes smooth, healthy and soft skin, so does one designed for the penis. Shea butter and vitamin E are fantastic natural moisturizers to seek out in a crème.

Interesting Penis Facts - The Surprising Benefits of Vitamin E

Day-to-day life is hard on the penis. Ultraviolet radiation, pollution and even some types of food can all conspire to break tissues down and impede performance when it matters most. Thankfully, adding one component to a penis care routine could make environmental attacks on the delicate penile tissue a little less damaging. Here’s how vitamin E can help to protect and preserve the manhood.

Cardiovascular Benefits
In a moment of passion, a man is expected to rise to the occasion, and that elevation depends on blood flow. Channels within the penis will expand when they're filled with blood, and that can add inches in both length and girth. Unfortunately, the bloodstream is simply filled with free radicals.

These small cells are considered chemically unstable, meaning that they can react with almost everything they come into contact with, including tissues that line the blood vessels and those that involve the heart. The cardiovascular system is also filled with cholesterol that can break down and go through similar destructive chemical reactions.

This damage is difficult to feel in the moment, but given enough injury, the entire system might break down, and that might make either getting or keeping an erection just a little harder.

Vitamin E is an antioxidant, meaning that it can block the action of free-radical cells. This element also has the ability to protect the cardiovascular system from the effects of cholesterol. When this vitamin is in play at the proper levels, blood vessels and heart tissues are more inclined to resist and/or survive an assault, and there might be fewer dangerous elements involved in the body in the first place. That could help the penis to move when it needs to do so.

Skin-Smoothing Capabilities
While the cardiovascular system helps the penis to function in the right way at the right time, the wrapper that covers the tool could ensure that the penis has the opportunity to be put to good use. After all, when the skin is smooth, soft and bursting with good health, it's more likely to be touched, nuzzled and otherwise interacted with. Vitamin E can help here as well.

Skin is constantly regenerating, sloughing off dead cells and laying down a new network of tissue. That regeneration requires an intense amount of nutrition, and without it, the body can begin to take a few shortcuts. The skin that develops from a malnourished body might be fragile and prone to breakage, or it might come in layers that are much too thin to replace the dead tissues that are sliding away.

Once skin is in place, it also relies on a layer of oils that can lock moisture in and keep bacteria out. The body is capable of producing that oil slick, but it needs a serious diet of vitamins to make it happen. Without that proper diet, oil might be seriously lacking, and skin can quickly erode.

Vitamin E can assist with both of these problems. When it's in play, the body has the nutrients it needs to lay down an overlapping network of healthy tissues, and the body has the ability to protect those tissues with a healthy amount of oil. The resulting skin is definitely kissable.

Making Vitamin E Work
The best way to deliver Vitamin E to the penis is to put it there on a daily basis with an application of a penis health crème. Topical application also allows men to daub that nutrition right where it's needed, without worrying about flushing their investment down the toilet in their next trip to the bathroom.

These products contain a number of other ingredients that can work in tandem with Vitamin E, including:
  • Shea butter
  • Vitamin A
  • Vitamin C
  • Vitamin D
A daily application of a penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil) can leave the penis feeling healthy and functional, both inside and out.

Penis Facts that May Be Surprising - What Every Guy Should Know

Let's face it: most men consider themselves experts when it comes to the tool they carry around in their pants. After all, the average man will use his penis multiple times per day to urinate, and if they're lucky, that same fleshy tool can become a more pleasurable instrument in the bedroom. But even the most enlightened men might be surprised by some of the weird, wild and wonderful penis facts that make the male member so special, and so deserving of proper penis care!

1. About Half of a Man's Penis is Inside His Body.
Most guys really like to touch their junk, as if to reassure themselves that nature's most masculine tool is still down there, just waiting to be used. But in fact, the exposed penis only represents about half of the average male member. The rest is tucked up inside the body cavity. This design is partially responsible for a man's firm and unyielding erection during intimate moments. There's a ton of tissue holding that penis in place, ensuring that it doesn’t swing up, down or sideways when it’s time for some erotic action.

2. A Penis Can Break.
When an arousing encounter begins, the erectile chambers of the penis swell with blood. These chambers are surrounded by fibrous connective tissue that give them their shape. When a sudden movement in an unexpected direction subjects the taut penis tissue to extreme stress, this connective tissue can rupture. It's an audible and excruciating event that will almost certainly end with a trip to the hospital.

3. "Use It or Lose It" Applies to the Penis.
Having an erection can sometimes be inconvenient or even dangerous, but men who don't allow themselves to enjoy any moments of firmness may find that their shafts become smaller and smaller with each passing year. It’s absolutely vital to keep the penis tissue pliant and flexible through regular stretching and manual stimulation. Otherwise, the penis can lose considerable length and girth, as well as function.

4. Most Erections Happen During Sleep.
If preventing penile shrinkage is a top priority, then man’s best ally is slumber. At night, when the body is relaxed and the mind free to roam, the penis can perform its own strengthening exercises without causing any kind of public embarrassment. Sometimes the penis will become erect more than nine times during the night!

5. Whether a Shower or a Grower, Most Men Even Out.
Plenty of penises might appear small at a glance, but when aroused, they can harden and stretch to an impressive size. In contrast to these "growers," other men enjoy members that hang long and large while flaccid, growing minimally during erotic activity. This mysterious difference between showers and growers has confused countless men, but most scientific experts suggest that it doesn't matter much, as average erections tend to achieve the same size.

6. Penis Sensitivity Loss is not Inevitable.
By the time a man reaches age 60, his penis might be considerably less sensitive to tender, caressing touch. This can be an awkward subject for men to discuss openly. But the good news for older men is that penile damage is not strictly age-related. More often, it’s a result of the rough treatment that a penis can endure for 60+ years, including the following:
  • Unfortunate underwear choices
  • Rough sex
  • Frequent masturbation
  • Heavy blows to the crotch
  • Improper nutrition
Any man who protects his penis is more likely to preserve his ability to enjoy heightened, long-lasting sensitivity. A penis health creme (health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil) can be an essential part of this effort. These products contain the vitamins a man needs to preserve his penis nerves, and the soothing action of natural emollients such as Shea butter may help to replenish any skin cells damaged by excessive activity or poor lifestyle choices. With regular application, a penis health cream may be enough to make the average male member feel 20 years younger.

Penis Anatomy Basics - Basic Health Facts that All Men Should Know

The average sex education class, in which men are introduced to penis anatomy for the very first time, typically takes place during an awkward time in a boy's life. Often, he's much too young to have experienced the benefits of a healthy penis, and even talking about intimate tissues might make him giggle, blush or just shut down altogether. As a result, it's not uncommon for men to know very little about how their bodies work and what might be done to keep their most intimate parts functioning at peak capacity. This information can fill in the blanks for guys who tuned out during health class, as it outlines major structures and penis care techniques that can keep things running smoothly.

  1. All about the Flow. The penis is often described as a tube, and in many ways, that's an accurate description. After all, the penis is designed to transmit all sorts of fluids outside of a man's body in a quick and efficient way. However, the penis is also lined with hollow spaces known as the corpus cavernosum and corpus spongiosum. These spaces are vital to a healthy erection, as they can accept the blood that streams to the area during an erection. When they're filled with blood, the area stiffens and rises from the body. When they're empty, the penis is flaccid.

  1. Vital Chemicals. Blood doesn't enter the groin through mere suggestion and willpower. Instead, it's summoned there by an intricate network of nerve cells, linking with chemicals released by the brain. When a man senses a sexual signal, his brain releases the neurotransmitter noradrenaline. This chemical triggers a series of further chemical reactions in the penis, relaxing muscles and opening blood vessels so that blood can flow into areas that are normally closed off and empty. These reactions are completely involuntary, meaning that there's no higher thought involved, and they can work within the blink of an eye. As soon as a man senses sex is coming, the process is set in motion and his body gets prepared.

  1. A Delicate Wrapper. All of this blood flow is encased in a wrapper of intensely sensitive skin. This skin isn't remarkably different than the skin that encases the rest of a man's body, but it's typically hairless and is normally protected within a man's clothing for the vast majority of the day. As a result, the skin is likely to be smooth and responsive. It might also be slightly darker than the skin on the rest of a man's body, simply because it has access to more blood.

The entire length of the penis is designed to be responsive to both touch and pressure, but there are some portions of this organ that are remarkably sensitive, including:
  • The tip of the penis, known as the glans
  • The band of tissue that encircles the glans, known as the corona
  • The tissue that encircles the penis, known as the foreskin
  • The tiny band of skin that connects the foreskin to the shaft of the penis, known as the frenulum
  1. Staying in Shape. Penis sensitivity levels can be impacted by haphazard handling techniques. Men who use too much force when interacting with their equipment can lay down scar tissue that can impede sensations of touch. Similarly, rough clothing can cause wee scratches and scrapes that can erode a man's ability to feel almost anything. Using care in handling, and ensuring that penile tissues remain hydrated and moist can be key to keeping everything firing properly.

Penis difficulties can also arise through poor nutrition and supplementation. All of the reactions that can allow an erection to take place require specific vitamins and nutrients, and they might be in short supply in men who eat on the go and who build their diets around fast food and soft drinks. For men like this, a penis health creme might be vital. These products (most experts recommend Man1 Man Oil) can fill in the gaps in a man's diet, providing his penis with the nutrients it needs in order to do its job properly.

Penis Facts and Fallacies: 5 Myths About Sex, Masturbation and Pregnancy

Most young boys are subjected to the dreaded birds-and-bees conversation early in life. That same information is also typically provided in school, during embarrassing sex education classes. By the time a guy reaches adolescence, it's often assumed that he knows everything there is to know about sex and pregnancy. Even so, myths about how babies are made, and how penis care plays a role, are rampant among young men. Clearing up those myths could help to avoid unplanned pregnancies, not to mention unpleasant penis problems.

Myth: Pulling Out Early Prevents Pregnancy.
A typical male ejaculation results in the release of hundreds of little swimmers, but only one of these is needed to fertilize a waiting egg. Men who rely on the pullout method may be able to keep the majority of their sperm cells from entering the bodies of their partners, but even one little cell left behind could be enough to do the trick. As a result, pulling out just isn't a method that's associated with a high level of success. Furthermore, the fluid that is often referred to as “pre-cum” may also contain sperm, so the assumption that if no ejaculation takes place, then no pregnancy will result is false.

Myth: Upright Sex is an Effective Form of Birth Control.
The idea behind this myth is that sperm won't move uphill in order to reach their ultimate destination. Unfortunately, these little cells are great swimmers, and they have absolutely no problem with moving uphill, downhill or even sideways in order to find an egg. They can also make the journey within seconds, so changing position right after sex or trying to push out, or flush out, the seminal fluid also won't help to keep pregnancy from occurring.

Myth: Having Sex in Water Washes Sperm Away.
Two bodies that are locked together during sex are incredibly efficient baby-making machines, and no amount of water will stand in their way. Sitting in a bathtub or a hot tub during sex may help them to feel more relaxed and perhaps a little bit cleaner, but this has no impact on the ability of sperm to move from a man's body to a woman's body. There is a bit of good news here, however. Many people have expressed concern that sperm could swim in hot water from one body to another, leading to unwanted pregnancies just from sharing a jacuzzi. However, sperm require a fairly specific environment to survive, and the temperature and chemistry of hot tub water is unlikely to allow them to survive such a journey. Therefore, men who worry about inviting their female partners into their pools or hot tubs due to the activity that's taken place in there in the past may not have much cause for concern.

Myth: First-Time Sex Can't Lead to Pregnancy.
Sex can seem incredibly complicated, as there are so many positions to study and so much legwork to do before the action even begins, but the actual act of fertilization is really quite simple. In fact, much of it doesn't require planning at all. Even really terrible sex that both people don't enjoy, performed for the very first time, can result in a pregnancy.

Myth: Frequent Masturbation Can Reduce Pregnancy Risk.
Some amount of sperm is released each time a guy climaxes, and men who want to reduce their chances of fatherhood may believe that spending quality time alone on a regular basis can help to reduce the amount of seed they release. It's worth repeating that only one little sperm cell is needed in order for a pregnancy to take hold. Masturbating may reduce the number of cells, but it can never reduce that figure to zero. Frequent masturbation can, however, cause penis damage, including:

  • Chafed skin
  • Reduced sensitivity
  • Increased scar tissue
  • Curved or bent erections

However, these issues can be alleviated through use of a penis health creme (health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil). A quality penile creme containing penis-specific nutrients and moisturizers can soothe abused skin and boost cellular health, allowing for a smooth, responsive tool that's ready for safe, protected sex.
