Good-Looking Penis Study: Health Matters Most

In July of 2015, headlines abounded concerning a study that, according to some writers, answers the question of what a "good-looking penis" looks like. The notion that there is an ideal penis appearance is problematic for a number of reasons, including the fact that it objectifies men and causes undue distress for them. Sexual health can suffer from anxieties around the penis, and it’s important for men to address those issues.

Still, there were some interesting results of the study in question, and they are worth noting.

Some facts

The study consisted of only 105 women between the ages of 16 and 45. The women assessed photos of 20 penises, and researchers ranked the features that were most important to the women.

One-hundred-five is a small sample size, so this study can hardly be said to offer anything conclusive in the way of "what women find attractive." However, the results do make quite a bit of sense.

The point of the study was to gather some evidence concerning whether one’s assessment of whether a penis was good-looking or not was affected by the shape of the meatus, the opening of the urethra. Ten of the penises photographed had received surgery to reposition the meatus, which was congenitally mal-positioned behind the penile head. The surgically repositioned meatuses were shaped differently than the others.

Results

Study after study finds that women aren’t too concerned about penis size, but men still don’t get it. For them, it’s often a bit of an obsession and a significant source of distress. This study found penis length to rank fifth out of seven factors influencing ideas about a good-looking penis.

The following ranking resulted from the study:

1) General cosmetic appearance
2) Appearance of pubic hair
3) Girth/appearance of skin (tied)
4) Shape of penis head
5) Length
6) Appearance of scrotum
7) Shape and position of meatus

The first factor, "general cosmetic appearance," is too vague to really say much about, but it’s notable that tidiness and skin condition are list-toppers, as much as or more so than any anatomical feature. Though the study certainly has its limitations, it does reinforce the importance of cleanliness and attention to detail, which are things any man can work on (unlike size and shape).

Finally, men who receive corrective surgery on the meatus need not feel self-conscious about how their members look, the study suggests. And that makes sense - a well-kept penis is a beautiful thing, squinty meatus or not.

What guys can do

While getting all hung up on how the penis looks isn’t healthy, there’s nothing wrong with wanting it to be as beautiful as it can be, particularly when one considers what is healthy to be beautiful. Trimming the hair is totally a matter of personal preference, but sweat-prone guys benefit from taming the shrub, keeping the area cooler and preventing bacteria buildup that can lead to odors. Keeping the hair tidy can also cut down on instances of jock itch, a nasty fungal infection that causes an itchy rash in the genital region.

Another crucial factor men ought to pay attention to is skin condition. Smooth, vibrant skin is delightful to the eye and to the touch. More importantly, healthy skin is less prone to infection, as cracks in dry skin can provide harboring grounds for viruses, fungi and bacteria.

Keeping the skin in peak condition is made possible by using a penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil). Natural moisturizers like Shea butter and vitamin E join forces to hydrate the skin, getting rid of any dryness or flakiness that may be affecting the manhood. Using a lotion made specifically for the penis will ensure that guys are showing their members the extra love they deserve, and a man’s attention to detail is likely to be noticed and appreciated by his lover.

The Erect Penis: 7 Facts You Might Not Know

From an early age, the erect penis becomes a man’s special best friend. Over the course of his lifetime, a guy spends quite a lot of time with this firm friend. He’s there in the morning when a man wakes up and pops up regularly throughout the day. Hopefully, every guy is taking steps to ensure the best penis care for this special pal so that he stays happy and healthy. And part of proper care is just knowing a few basic facts about an erect penis.

With that in mind, here are a few things that a guy may or may not already know about his tumescent member.

1) Scientists classify erections in three categories.

To most guys, a penis is erect or it isn’t. Scientists, though, like to be more specific and so use three different categories when discussing erections: reflexogenic, psychogenic and nocturnal. Basically, reflexogenic means an erection caused by some form of physical stimulation. Psychogenic describes an erection created in response to one’s own fantasies and thoughts. And, not surprisingly, nocturnal are those erections that pop up while a guy is sleeping.

2) Boys get erect while still in the womb.

With all the ultrasounds and various other gadgets now used for monitoring the fetus, doctors have discovered that little boy fetuses start having erections somewhere around 16 weeks of age. Well, guys will be guys.

3) The penis needs a decent amount of blood to get firm.

As most men know, a rush of blood into the penis is what causes the organ to swell and stiffen. An average of 4.5 ounces of blood is needed to achieve the erection process. For the area involved, that’s a fairly large amount.

4) Doughnuts can make a guy excited.

That may seem strange, but a study indicated that the smell of baking doughnuts can increase blood flow to the penis by about 13%. It may not produce a full-blown erection, but it does cause a bit of stirring down there.

5) Men average about 14-16 erections in a 24-hour period.

There is variation in this, of course, and some teen-agers may feel that they never stop having an erection. But studies show that the typical man has 11 erections while he is awake during the day. At night, he will have 3 to 5 more during his sleep phases.

6) Erections have something in common with electricity.

This may seem odd, but nitric oxide, which increases the blood flow to the penis to create an erection, is produced by lightning in nature. (Fortunately, there are many other ways to get nitric oxide other than being struck by lightning.)

7) More erections are good for a man.

"Use it or lose it" is true for penis health as it is for many other things. Having sex, whether with oneself or a partner, helps maintain the proper functioning of the organ. So using those erections helps to keep the penis in better health.

Erect penis facts are fun to know and share, but they are also very important. The more a man knows about his member, the more able he is to be comfortable with it and keep it healthy. One excellent way to maintain that health is via the regular use of a top-notch penis health crème(health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil). Choose a crème with L-arginine; like the lightning mentioned above, L-arginine is part of the process that creates nitric oxide, which helps keep penile blood vessels open. It also helps to use a crème that includes vitamin C. This vitamin’s health benefits include being an important structural component of blood vessels and aiding in collagen production for penile tissue firmness. Using a crème like Man1 Man Oil has important benefits for any man.

Thick Penis: Tips for the Bedroom

Most guys associate penis size - both length and girth - with the ability to satisfy partners. While the connection really isn’t so solid, there is something to be said for a thick penis. Many women enjoy having the whole vaginal canal stimulated at once, and a wide penis is more able to accommodate this. That being said, the thickness of the member can cause difficulties in the bedroom. In the interest of vaginal and penile care, as well as maximizing pleasure, girthy guys should take into account the following tips.

Lubrication is key.
Vaginal tearing and penile chafing are two unfortunate but common consequences of sex, particularly if the sex is rough or if it goes on for some time. While these things occur regardless of penis size, a thicker manhood is more likely to stretch a vagina beyond its comfort zone and incur greater friction itself from complete contact with the canal.

That’s why lubrication is of the utmost importance for wide-membered guys and their partners. While some tearing and chafing may still result, it will be much less than if inadequate lubrication is present.

Partners can treat this necessity as a reason to engage in exciting and perhaps lengthy foreplay. Really build up the suspense - this will make sure she’s wet as can be before penetration. And don’t underestimate the importance of having a product on stand-by; even women who produce ample natural lubrication are likely to dry out eventually, especially during lengthy sessions. Do lube checks during position changes, and, if she’s dry, either engage in more non-penetrative play or use a product to make sure she’s slick before re-entry.
Pick positions wisely.

For some women, taking a thick penis is no problem. But many may find it a challenge. It’s a good idea to think about what positions may be most comfortable for her. Here are a couple of considerations:

1) Positions that put her in control of penetrative depth, angle and speed can ensure that she’s feeling more pleasure than pain. If she likes being on top, then that’s a good place to start. She can ride in traditional girl-on-top style, or mix it up with reverse cowgirl or the lotus. The lotus is a position in which both partners are sitting cross-legged and facing one another; her legs are crossed behind the man’s back, and their chests are pressed against one another. Very intimate!

2) Positions in which her legs are spread will make her vaginal canal wider and better able to accommodate a thick penis. Try doggy style with her legs spread wide, or missionary with her legs either out to the side or up in the air in a V-shape.

Get large condoms.
Condom sizes are based on girth, not length. Men with wide penises - generally, a circumference greater than 5.1" - should invest in large-sized condoms. Poorly-fitting condoms are more susceptible to slipping off or breaking, so getting the size right is crucial.

Manage chafing.
Sometimes using adequate lube just isn’t enough to protect the penile skin from chafing. Men can take several measures to make sure their skin is kept smooth, supple and healthy:

- Wash with warm water, not hot. Hot water can dry out the skin, leaving it susceptible to chafing.

- Don’t use harsh soaps. Warm water is usually sufficient for cleaning the penis. If a guy insists on soaping up, make sure to use a natural, gentle cleanser.

- Moisturize. Using a penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil) with a combination of natural moisturizers like Shea butter and vitamin E is a great way to keep the skin hydrated, protecting it against various types of friction and the dryness that often follows. Applying a moisturizer every day will make a big difference in skin condition, allowing men to recover faster from soreness after sex and helping them be ready for the next romp.

Penis Health: Consider these 6 Indirect Factors

When it comes to penis health, most men know the basics: wash well, wear protection and engage in frequent solo or partner play. If a man isn’t aware of factors that indirectly impact his penis health, though, the more direct approaches will only do so much good. A healthy sex life is key to mental and physical well-being, so men should make it a priority to educate themselves concerning the many ways in which they can promote a healthy manhood, which means knowing the habits that can harm the member.

Smoking
Cigarettes are known for calming nerves, but they do so in a detrimental way. Chemicals in cigarette smoke actually damage nerves in the body and interfere with their ability to experience pleasurable sensations. That’s a big problem when it comes to the penis.

But that’s not all. Cigarette smoke negatively impacts circulation. Erectile health hinges on proper blood flow through the body, since erections are caused by blood rushing into the penis. In studies, smokers have exhibited poorer erection quality than non-smokers. Quitting can reverse the damage.

Alcohol
A night of heavy drinking can hamper a man’s erectile strength by dampening his ability to sense pleasure. It can also interfere with the body’s ability to hold blood in the penis for a strong erection due to alcohol’s effects on blood vessels. Chronic heavy drinking may inhibit proper testosterone production; this hormone is imperative for erectile ability and sex drive. Heavy drinkers also have a higher rate of depression, which is no good for the sex drive.

Poor dental hygiene
Taking care of one’s teeth is not only important from an aesthetic standpoint; poor dental hygiene often corresponds with a buildup of bacteria caused by gum disease, and this bacteria gets into the blood stream where it damages blood vessels. In the penis, this can translate to poor erectile health as vessels are less capable of supporting proper circulation.

Diet
A diet high in fats and sugars and low in nutrients doesn’t promote healthy circulation, and can mess with one’s energy levels. Follow the basics: plenty of fruits and vegetables of a variety of colors and lean proteins; limit fats and sugars.

Lack of exercise
Cardiovascular exercise is necessary for healthy circulation, as it works the heart to help it pump blood more efficiently. Sitting around all day can leave a man sluggish and, over time, in poor cardiovascular health.

Excess exercise
Guys who over-train by hitting the gym nearly every day, pushing themselves to the limit and beyond, may be damaging their sex lives. That’s because those who over-train have an excess of the stress hormone cortisol in their bodies, and this hormone has an inverse relationship with testosterone; the more of the former, the less of the latter.

Avoiding these indirect penis problem-causers requires no special effort, as these same factors lead to several other health problems as well. Avoiding them is part of a healthy lifestyle in general, so guys who attend to their overall well-being are likely covered in the penis and sexual health areas.

There are several things guys can do for penile health that involve the member directly. Along with the basics mentioned at the beginning above, a less obvious one is the use of a penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil). This skin care product for men contains natural moisturizers to keep the penile skin resilient against friction and chafing, as well as L-arginine, which promotes penile blood vessel openness and, in turn, healthy blood flow. Using a product like this daily can give a man the extra boost he needs to feel good about what he’s got and know he’s treating it the best he can.

Erect Penis Exhibition: Mastering the Masturbation Video

As anyone who has spent even the slightest amount of time investigating sexual videos online knows, the world of masturbation videos is huge. The number of erect penis exhibitionists out there is mind-boggling, but perhaps shouldn't be surprising. Men tend to be enormously proud of their erections - and why not? - and so enjoy the opportunity to share them with willing and consenting viewers. Of course, any guy who is ready to post a video of his manhood in solo action needs to make sure he has been practicing adequate penis care so that the results are flattering. But aside from maintaining penis health, what else does a guy need to do to master the masturbation video?

Answer the anonymity question
Probably the first thing a guy needs to do is determine if he wants to be identifiable from this video that he's about to send out to the world. This is a question about which a man should really think long and hard. Is he comfortable showing his face, not knowing exactly who is going to see this? What if the guy who runs the corner deli sees it? Will the masturbator feel embarrassed when he goes in for his morning coffee? Or will he feel proud and enjoy joking around about it? There's also the question of whether this is something a man may feel differently about 5 or 10 years from now.

Deciding whether to show the face - or anything else that may identify a solosexual artist - determines a great deal about how one makes the video.

Look at the equipment
Once the identity question is decided, the man needs to take a good, hard look at his manhood. What is going to make it come off to its best advantage onscreen? For example, does the owner think the wild, hairy bush he sports gives him a sexy, masculine appearance? Or would he rather trim it so that it is neater? Or perhaps shave all the hair off the penis and testicles?
Are there things about the penis that he wishes to emphasize - or obscure? Would he like to show off his glans while perhaps detracting from the mole near the base of the shaft? Is the girth an asset he would like to focus on? Does he plan on spreading his legs, and if so, how does the area between his equipment and his anus look?

Decide on a persona
Many men make masturbation videos simply to be themselves, which is great. Others feel more comfortable adopting a different persona. A shy, quiet man may become a rough, dirty-talking masturbator in the video, for example. Sometimes a man may need to make several videos, experimenting with different personalities, to find the one that he wants to share.

Think about the camera
Most guys make solosexual videos on a solo basis - with no separate person manning the camera. It's wise to take a little time and do some trial runs to master the camera beforehand. See what kind of lighting shows the penis off to its best advantage. What angles are most flattering? (For those concerned about size, shooting from slightly below, so the camera is looking up at the penis and is a bit closer to the organ, tends to make it look larger.)

Use a skin care product
Of course, vitally important is making sure the erect penis is in good health for the masturbation video. Regular use of a quality penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil) can make a big difference in how camera-ready the penis is. When the camera is close up, defects in penis skin are quite noticeable, so using a crème with a combination of a high-end emollient (such as Shea butter) and a natural hydrator (such as vitamin E) is necessary to ensure a properly moisturized organ. In addition, a good crème should include a powerful antioxidant (such as alpha lipoic acid). By combatting harmful oxidative and aging processes in penile cells, a potent antioxidant will help the organ avoid that unappealing "wrinkled" appearance, which the camera will only emphasize.

Penis Care: Avoid these Foreskin Problems

Foreskin gets a bad rap in American culture, but there are several positive things about it. It provides a layer of natural protection between the sensitive penile head and clothing; it produces natural lubrication for the penis; some partners greatly enjoy the process of "undressing" the head of the penis by retracting the foreskin over the head with lips or hands. While circumcision is not necessary for a healthy penis, there are some unique problems that can occur in uncut men, and guys should be aware of them both in order to identify and prevent them. The following foreskin problems, and the penis care steps to remedy them, are important for all intact men to know.

Balanitis
Balanitis is a condition broadly characterized by inflammation of the foreskin, sometimes accompanied by inflammation of the head. It can be caused by several things. Most often, it refers to an infection created by improper hygiene. Smegma, the white substance that builds up under the foreskin, attracts bacteria and can cause infection if not wiped away on a regular basis (usually, once a day while showering). Proper hygiene is both the prevention and typical treatment course.

Another type of infection that can lead to foreskin/head swelling is candidiasis (yeast infection). In men, this usually occurs among diabetics or those who have unprotected sex with an infected woman. In the former case, managing diabetes effectively is the best prevention protocol, and in the latter, protected sex serves to prevent yeast infections. Treatment involves use of an antifungal cream. If contracted from a partner, both partners should be treated simultaneously to prevent a resurgence.
Finally, aggressive sex or masturbation can lead to swelling of the foreskin and head. Giving the member a break can speed recovery, and using more lubrication next time may help prevent a recurrence.

Phimosis
Phimosis is marked by the inability to retract the foreskin, usually because of infections and scarring. The latter may result from infections due to improper hygiene. Medicated creams may be prescribed to correct the problem.

During adolescence and the teenage years, the foreskin generally becomes unattached from the head of the penis. Rarely, the adhesions that attach the foreskin and head at birth don’t wear away normally, and medical intervention is required. Stretching exercises may be of assistance in naturally retracting the foreskin.

Paraphimosis
The penis can become injured in such a way that the foreskin gets trapped below the head of the penis. If stuck in this position, the foreskin may cut off blood flow to the head of the penis, constituting a medical emergency. Going to the emergency room is called for in this situation to prevent serious, permanent damage. Avoiding super-aggressive sex and odd thrusting angles can help prevent it.

Foreskin Entrapment
When the penis is flaccid, the foreskin is baggy and often wrinkly. This renders it susceptible to being caught in fly zippers. While this may sound like a silly way to get injured, it can be significantly painful and often requires medical attention to remove the skin from the zipper’s teeth. Men can lessen the likelihood of this occurring by wearing undergarments and practicing caution when zipping and unzipping (sliding one hand between the pants and the undergarments is a good way to go).

Caring for the foreskin is generally not difficult. Guys need to retract it gently and wash away smegma regularly; using just warm water, or warm water plus a very mild cleanser, while wiping the smegma away with the fingers is a simple task. Men can boost their penile care regimens by using a penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil) that keeps the skin moisturized, supple and retractable. In addition, a crème with vitamin A can help combat bacteria that promote odors and infections. There’s nothing wrong with foreskin, so long as a man takes proper care of what he has.

Sex Tips: How to Finger a Woman

A man’s arsenal of sex tips ought to include a healthy stock of foreplay knowledge. While most men know that kissing and caressing are important here, some get cold feet when it comes to using their hands in and around a woman’s vagina. Likely, the reason for this is a lack of confidence concerning their ability to properly stimulate her. Since confidence is an important factor in sexual health and performance ability, men would be wise to educate themselves in this area, particularly on the topic of fingering.

1) Keep the nails trimmed and cleaned. Dirty, ragged finger nails do not a pleasant fingering experience make. A man needs to make sure his nails are smooth, short and clean underneath before putting them near a lover’s most sensitive parts.

2) Make sure she’s lubed up. This may come from natural lubrication following kissing, caressing and clitoral stimulation; it may also be product-assisted. A man may think that, since fingers are thin compared to the penis, lubrication is not as crucial when fingering. Think again.

3) Consider what kind of penetration she likes. Does she like it fast and hard? If so, a man will likely get the best reaction by mimicking this rhythm and depth with his fingers. He can do so by kneeling in front of her spread legs, a position that allows him to use the full length of his middle finger (and perhaps his index or ring finger as well). If she likes it slow but deep, follow suit. If she likes shallower thrusts, focus on the G-spot.

4) Find the G-spot. Regardless of how a woman likes penetration during intercourse, she probably will get a big thrill from G-spot stimulation. A man can best access this by kneeling in front of her spread legs and placing a finger or two inside her with the palm facing up; then, arch the finger(s) in a "come here" motion. Start slow, and vary the rhythm according to her reaction. Tip: Pretend that the fingers are trying to touch her belly button from the inside in order to get the right angle.

5) Get the C-spot involved. For many women, clitoral stimulation in conjunction with fingering is a special treat that can lead to intense orgasm. Use deep thrusts (if she likes those) and/or G-spot stimulation while using the tongue to circle the clit, or use the fingers of the other hand to massage her on the outside.

6) Try the slide technique. Place two fingers on either side of her clit, then slide them down and insert them. Slide them back up and repeat. It’s best to do this with the palm facing down; even if the nails are trimmed, they could still irritate her sensitive skin. Also note that this technique requires ample lubrication.

7) Screw it. Sit between her legs and insert two fingers with the palm facing down. Go all the way in, then rotate so that the palm is facing up as you pull out, and repeat. Try to tap her G-spot on the way out for extra pleasure.

Along with learning how to make the most out of foreplay, one of the most important sex tips for a man is to keep his penis in peak form and function. Along with proper washing and regular use, a man would do well to use a penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil) on a daily basis. A combination of moisturizers (Shea butter and vitamin E) will provide optimal hydration to the skin, protecting it from the frictions of the day. Also look for vitamin C, which promotes collagen production and penile tissue firmness. Keeping the manhood as attractive and inviting as possible is as important to a man’s sex life as knowing his way around foreplay.
