Penis Protection for the Winter Nudist

Many people find the nudist lifestyle very liberating. They often extoll the virtues of experiencing the world around them directly on their skin, without the artificial barrier of clothing between them and Nature. The way the sunshine feels, how they experience a breeze, the difference between various kinds of grasses rubbing against the skin - all are part of the nudist life for many. But during the winter, the nudist may need to take precautions – and men may need to guard their penis health from winter-related issues by practicing proper penis protection strategies.

Summer too

Not that the male nudist doesn’t need to worry about penis protection in the warmer months. When the sun is blazing, penis skin needs to be protected from sunburn just as skin elsewhere on the body. And the penis that brushes against poison ivy or poison oak is not going to be a happy penis.

Activities

But in the winter, the major penis health hazard becomes the intensely cold weather. Because of the cold (and ice and snow), many nudists retire to indoor-only nudist activities until warm weather returns. But there are many organized outdoor nudist events during winter. Polar plunges – jumping into ice cold waters – are popular, and hardly any more dangerous than those plunges in which people wear swimsuits. Naked skiing, sledding and snowboarding is increasingly popular. Some hardy souls still enjoy playing volleyball in the buff in winter, and it’s not unusual for a group of nudist friends to get together for an impromptu basketball game. And, of course, simply going for a walk naked (provided it is in enclosed grounds) is an option at any time of the year.

Penis protection

Since some male nudists will continue to enjoy outdoor activities at least some time during winter, what are some penis protection tips they should follow?

- Limit exposure. Just as delicate penis skin shouldn’t be exposed to brutally harsh sunlight for an extended period of time in the summer, so should it not be exposed to sub-freezing temperatures for very long. Moderation is the key – and the colder it is, the less time the penis should be out and about.

- Warm it up. Before venturing outdoors, warm the penis up. This may mean waiting until the last minute to disrobe or wearing snug, warm briefs until just venturing out. Outdoors, it may pay to rub the penis occasionally to keep it warm. This is easy to do when alone or with understanding friends; however, since rubbing the penis often brings about an erection and is often viewed as masturbating, this is not really an option in nudist groups, where genital manipulation is frowned upon.

- Bring cover-up. It may pay to have some form of cover-up along – a robe, a towel, a pair of underwear – just in case the cold becomes unbearable and one has wandered too far away from shelter.

- Watch out for signs of frostbite. The last thing a guy wants is a frostbitten penis, so know the warning signs. If the penis gets prickly and then numb; turns very red or then turns white, pale or bluish; or turns hard and waxy, then frostbite may have occurred. Basically, if prickliness or numbness occurs, or if the penis gets unnaturally reddened, it’s time to get inside before real damage occurs.

The male nudist who practices proper penis protection should also be sure to include in his regimen the daily application of a top drawer penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven mild and safe for skin). Winter weather can dry out skin, so a crème that includes a combination of moisturizers, such as shea butter and vitamin E, is an excellent choice. The skin will be further protected if the crème also contains a mighty antioxidant, such as alpha lipoic acid, to protect it from the ravages brought about by unwanted oxidative stress.

Penis Protection for the Occasional Nudist

Although some 54 million Americans have swum naked with other people, nudism is still not considered a mainstream idea. People who are committed nudists (or naturists, as many prefer to be called) are very much in the minority. But there’s reason to believe that there are quite a few more people who have something of an interest in being a nudist, at least on occasion. For example, one poll found that 15% of Americans were open to considering nudist-based activities or resorts when planning holidays. When a man is an "occasional" nudist of this sort, what does he need to know about his penis health? Does he need to take any penis protection steps?

Yes, it’s a good idea to be prepared. And the following are some things to consider.

Start slowly in the sun. If one’s nudist experience includes a beach or another area in which there is strong direct sunlight, be sure not to overdo things. It goes without saying that using a good, strong sunscreen is necessary; however, sunscreen can wash off, so it needs to be reapplied. Even when sunscreen is used conscientiously, delicate penis skin which is unused to direct sunlight can get damaged. So for proper penis protection, approach things slowly. If the beach is clothing optional, wear a swimsuit on every so often, especially when the sun is at its strongest. If clothing is not allowed, wrap a towel around the midsection, or lie on one’s stomach.

Look out for poison ivy. When camping or hiking in the nude - or even just when being anywhere that has a lot of plant life - be on the lookout for poison ivy, oak, and sumac - and know how to recognize them. The last thing a man wants to do is find his penis and balls slapping against a patch of poison ivy. The itching and rashing that can result can be a nightmare. It’s also important to remember that oils from the plant that causes the rash can be transmitted from one person to another - so avoid touching another person who has come in contact with the plant as well.

Rinse after skinny dipping in the ocean. It can feel great to swim naked in the ocean, letting the waves pour over one’s body. But as refreshing and invigorating as it can be, spending too much time in salty water can really dry out sensitive penis skin. After spending time in the ocean, take a moment to rinse off excess salt from the penis.

Expect insects . With no clothing barriers, it’s easier for insects to make their presence felt on the penis. And delicate penis skin is not made for the harsh chemicals in many insect repellants. So practice better penis protection by inspecting the penis and balls for mosquito bites, ticks, and other unwanted visitors. Be especially careful where ticks are concerned, as there are numerous tick borne diseases (such as Lyme disease) that a guy doesn’t want to deal with.

If a man engages in good penis protection practices, he can more fully enjoy the nudist experience without worry. His mind will also rest easier if he is already taking steps to ensure penis health, such as regularly using a superior penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven mild and safe for skin) . Ideally, the crème will have a wide array of vitamins, such as A, B5, C, D, and E, to help "cover the bases" when it comes to vitamin-based health. It also helps if the crème contains an amino acid known as L-arginine. This ingredient helps the body produce nitric oxide, and that in turn helps keep penile blood vessels open and flowing when increased blood is needed.

Penis Health Tips for a Nudist Picnic

Nudist activities are by no means confined to the summer months, but the nice, warm weather does provide opportunities for more and more varied nudist excursions. Clothing optional beaches and no-clothes-allowed resorts are common, but there’s much more to the lifestyle than that. For example, many nudist families and friends enjoy picnicking in the nude. Sometimes a man who is not a practicing nudist may be invited along, so the following penis health tips are offered for the novice nudist who finds himself lunching in the buff.

Things to remember

These tips can help make the nudist picnic more enjoyable. Several are not necessarily penis health related, but are important anyway.

- Go bare. If an event is being held at an actual nudist resort, nudity may be a requirement. If at a friend’s summer home or other private residence, the friend will usually tell a guest that they are perfectly welcome to keep their clothes on if they so desire. However, most guests will probably feel awkward if they are clothed while everyone else is naked. Doffing clothing is usually a good idea; the shyness and insecurity a person may feel is likely to disappear after a few minutes.

- Be polite. There is a great temptation to stare and gawk at other people’s private parts. Don’t. A glance here or there is fine, but active staring is discouraged. When alone with a close friend, it may be fine to say something like "Whoa, I never knew you were so endowed, man" - but in general commenting upon genitals, breasts and buttocks is discouraged.

- Use a napkin. It’s great to let everything hang out as one with Nature, but when sitting down to eat that hot dog dripping with mustard and ketchup, it pays to have a napkin covering the penis. That’s especially true if spicy foods or sauces are involved.

- Consider a towel. If a wooden picnic table is involved, it may be a good idea to lay a towel down on the seat. Prickly or splintery wood can be very painful on the butt, penis or balls. Removing a splinter from the manhood is not great for penis health.

- Think about position in relationship to others. Nudists enjoy the common beauty of the human form. That said, it doesn’t mean that they necessarily want to have a guy to be standing close to them when they are seated, so that his penis is inches away from their face. Similarly, they don’t want him turning around and bending over, forcing his butt to violate their personal space.

- Keep the manhood away from the food. No one likes finding that a stray hair has wandered into their food - especially when it may very easily be a pubic hair.

- Lotion up. Make sure to put plenty of sunscreen on the penis (and balls and butt) for outdoor picnics. A sunburned member is a very unhappy member.

- Spray. Mosquitoes are a pest any time - so a guy really wants to keep them away when his manhood is exposed. Similarly, ticks, ants, bees and other creatures of nature’s insect brigade should keep away from the personal privates. Finding a gentle but effective spray or lotion to keep insects away is crucial.

A nudist picnic is a fun way to sample nudism, and to see whether any penis health challenges it presents are manageable for an individual. A man can also better manage this area by using a top flight penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven mild and safe for skin) on a daily basis. When on display, any guy wants the penis to look its best. Using a crème with Shea butter (a high-end emollient) and vitamin E (a hydrator) will keep the penis skin moisturized and supple. And using a crème with vitamin C is urged, as vitamin C plays a role in collagen production, which gives the penis greater elasticity.

Is Penis Health Compromised by Nudist Activities?

Nowadays most men know that taking pains to ensure good penis health pays off in the long run. The healthier the penis, the more likely it is to perform at peak levels and the fewer problems - sexual or otherwise - a man is likely to encounter as he ages. Some people wonder if being a nudist has any noticeable effect on penis health, especially in terms of possibly being detrimental to it. In fact, there’s little reason to believe nudism is harmful to penis health - provided appropriate precautions are taken, of course.

Nudist lifestyle

Although exact figures are hard to come by, an estimated 3% to 5% of the U.S. adult population is thought to be social nudists - that is, preferring to go unclothed while at home and in certain acceptable social situations. However, the number of people who have participated in what might be termed a nudist activity, at least once, would be considerably higher. For example, there are multitudes of people who have skinny-dipped (sometimes frequently) who would not consider themselves nudists.

Some people are attracted to the nudist lifestyle but hesitant to engage in it for a variety of reasons, including a concern that there may be some health risks involved. For example, as many a man who has ventured out on a nude beach can attest, exposing the penis to the sun carries the distinct risk of a very uncomfortable sunburn.

Nature

Fortunately sunburn on the penis can be avoided by use of an appropriate sunscreen. Because penis skin is sensitive, however, it is wise to pick a lotion that is gentle and doesn’t contain harsh ingredients. If sunburn does occur on the penis - or if the chosen sunscreen causes the skin to react - it’s best to add a moisturizing lotion or some aloe gel to the penis to help repair sun-damaged skin.

Exposing the bare penis to nature also runs the risk of putting it in contact with problematic plants, such as poison ivy or poison oak, or of excess pollen coating the penis. Knowing what plants to avoid is crucial to keeping a bare penis happy when exposed to nature. Washing the penis promptly when pollen or other allergens are present is also a good idea.

Hygiene

But what about the risk of the penis falling prey to improper hygiene habits of other nudists? Residual fecal matter can occasionally be deposited by one nudist on a chair or bench and it is possible for another nudist to "pick up" a disease from this route. However, many doctors believe there is no more risk from exposure in this way than from the casual everyday exposure a person gets from handling infected items (such as money or computer keyboards).

It does seem there is a slightly increased risk of picking up pubic lice from another nudist, but most nudist gatherings have rules which discourage any participants who are not free of such nuisances from attending. Nevertheless, it is always recommended to check for signs of such conditions after attending a nudist event.

Benefits

And there are some definite benefits to the nudist in terms of penis health. Airing out the penis and balls is one of the most effective ways to reduce rank penis odor. In addition, the fresh air can often help keep penis skin healthier. And limited exposure to sunlight helps increase vitamin D production in the penis as well.

Whether nudist or not, penis health can be improved if a man makes it a habit to apply a top notch penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven mild and safe for skin) regularly. Dry penis skin will benefit from a crème that includes both a high-end emollient (like Shea butter) and a natural hydrator (like vitamin E) to properly moisturize the skin and help retain natural oils. The better crèmes will also include vitamin B5 (aka retinol), a nutrient essential for proper penile cell metabolism.

Penis Health and Safety Rules for Naturalists

Parading a public penis - that is, exhibiting one's penis in a public setting - is something that many men enjoy; however, unless the public setting is a nudist gathering of some sort, doing so can land a man in plenty of legal hot water. Many who have never visited a clothing optional beach or a nudist colony assume that such places are essentially "anything goes," but nothing could be farther from the truth. There are many points of etiquette, as well as simple rules to protect penis health, that a man should take into account before embarking on a nudist escapade.

Rules can vary.
First, it's important to realize that rules and restrictions can vary significantly from one nudist gathering place to another. Sometimes, as with clothing optional beaches, there are rules that are laid down by government bodies; at other times, as with a private nudist colony or club, the rules are established by the coordinators or participants. Therefore, it's important for a man to bone up on what the rules are for any clothing-free event he wishes to attend.

However, there are some general rules that apply to most nudist gatherings.

1. Go natural, not nude. This may not seem like a big deal to the general public, but most people who enjoy a clothing-free lifestyle prefer to be called naturalists rather than nudists. A newcomer should respect this and employ the term "naturalist" when talking to other people at the event.

2. It's about freedom, not sex. The vast majority of nudist gatherings are about the joy and freedom of walking around without clothing, not about engaging in sexual activity. (Those that are really just orgies hiding behind the naturalist tag are usually easy enough to identify.) It is considered the height of rudeness to engage in sexual activity at a nude beach or other nudist event. This includes both masturbation and partner sex. Breaking this rule is a quick way to get kicked out.

3. What about erections? Probably the question of most concern to men is whether sporting an erection is against the rules. In general, most nudist gatherings accept that erections sometimes occur; the basic rule of thumb is to not flaunt the aroused state. If a man's penis hardens while sunning on a beach, it is best to either turn over on the stomach until it deflates or cover it with a towel. And speaking of towels…

4. Bring a towel. This makes sense when going to a beach, but many outdoor colonies and indoor gatherings also request guests bring a towel to cover seats, etc. It's simply more sanitary.

5. Don't stare. It is fine to glance at other people and observe their bodies, but staring or gawking is impolite.

6. No pictures. Never take a photo or video without getting permission from anyone who might appear in the picture; some clubs prohibit pictures altogether.

7. Respect privacy. Many attendees prefer to use their first names only; respect this and do not insist on learning more than a person wishes to tell.

8. Favor plastic over glass. Because glass can break and create a danger to exposed areas, plastic bottles are generally preferred over glass containers.

9. Bring sunscreen. If going to a beach, definitely bring sunscreen - and make sure to use it on the penis, testicles and posterior. Nothing is more painful than a sunburned tool.

While a nudist gathering is not about sex, men with the opportunity for a public penis display want to make sure that their equipment looks nice and healthy; using a first class penis health cream (health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil) can be a big help in this area. Regularly spreading on a vitamin-rich cream can deliver important nutrients directly to the penis, a big advantage over oral administration. Men should select a cream that includes alpha lipoic acid, a powerful antioxidant that can offset penile cell aging and help prevent a wrinkled penis look. In addition, the cream should include vitamin C, which also helps maintain a youthful-looking penis.
