Anemia May Derail Penis Function

This is something that many men have been told countless times but which still bears repeating: Penis health can be impacted by issues that don’t originate in the penis – and that applies to penis function as well. While some penis function issues have a clear link to the penis, such as a line drive baseball smacking solidly against the penis, other penis function issues may have origins that are less clear. In some cases, anemia may be a big contributing factor to some penis function issues.

A blood issue

When a person has anemia, they lack a lot of energy. Just engaging in simple physical tasks may make them feel tired – sometimes a little tired, sometimes a lot, depending upon both the severity of the anemia and the physical demands of the task. But what is anemia, and why does it make a person feel tired and/or listless?

Basically, when a person has anemia, it means that their blood isn’t able to take enough oxygen around the body. There’s a protein in blood, called hemoglobin, which is largely responsible for transporting the oxygen. If there is a problem with the hemoglobin, or if there are not enough red blood cells (and therefore not enough hemoglobin), anemia results.

In addition to fatigue, anemia can have other symptoms as well, such as pale or yellowish skin, cold hands and feet, dizziness, headaches, or an irregular heartbeat. There can be several causes of anemia, but the most common is caused by a lack of iron.

Penis function

So anemia is not a good thing – but how does it affect penis function? Basically it causes or contributes to erectile dysfunction.

When the penis gets erect, the blood vessels in the penis open up so that more oxygen-rich blood can come into the penis and fill up the spongy tissue there. Blood volume is essential, but the more oxygenated the blood is, the stronger the erection can be.

Second, when there’s less oxygen in the blood, it means that more pressure is put on the heart. It’s forced to pump faster, and when this goes on for too long a period of time, the heart gets weaker. And when the heart gets weaker, it has a harder time pumping blood forcefully around – which in turn means there’s less blood volume to flow into the penis to create or sustain the erection.

Even when a man has a successful erection, anemia can still cause some performance issues. Less available oxygen means a man tires more quickly, reducing the stamina that he may need for engaging in sex. This can translate into either a weakening of the erection itself or the body becoming too tired to perform sexual maneuvers at its best.

What to do

A doctor should be consulted in order to determine the cause of the anemia. As mentioned, very often the cause is lack of iron, and the treatment then may largely consist of adding more iron, both in the diet itself and through dietary supplements. When the reason for the anemia goes beyond a simple iron deficiency, the doctor will need to determine the appropriate way to treat it.

Treating anemia can help improve penis function, and it also can be helpful to maintain general penis health at the highest possible level. This latter goal can more readily be achieved if a man daily applies a first rate penis health oil (health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven mild and safe for skin). A man should for an oil with L-arginine, an amino acid which helps boost nitric oxide production, which in turn enables penile blood vessels to expand as needed. In addition, the oil should include vitamin C, which is necessary for proper blood flow, which is essential for maintaining erectile function.

Penis Problems and the Anemia Factor

No one likes feeling tired and fatigued all the time. When it’s just a matter of pushing too hard and not letting the body recover properly, a little sleep can help to make a guy feel revivified. But sometimes there’s a different reason for this sense of tiredness – such as anemia. And when a guy does have anemia, it can have an effect on his penis health, creating some penis problems he probably would rather not have to deal with.

What is anemia?

According to the Mayo Clinic, anemia occurs when a person doesn’t have enough red blood cells to adequately carry oxygen to the tissues all around the body. The body of course needs that oxygen in order to function and stay healthy. In some severe cases, the anemia can be so bad that it can become life threatening, but for most people anemia simply makes them feel “blah” and unenergetic. (This, of course, can sometimes lead to some other problems, including depression.)

In addition to making a person feel tired and weak, anemia can produce other symptoms as well. These include shortness of breath, dizziness, pale skin, cold hands and/or feet, irregular heartbeat, chest pains, and headaches.

Usually anemia starts out very mild, and then can gradually progress. Often a person doesn’t realize they have anemia until it has moved from mild to moderate or even serious. And there can be many other causes of fatigue other than anemia – so it’s a good idea for a guy to contact a doctor if he thinks he may have anemia. The doctor can run tests and make an accurate diagnosis.

There are many different kinds of anemia, although the most common one is anemia cause by not enough iron. Making dietary changes to get more iron, and probably taking iron supplements, is often all that is needed to correct this kind of anemia.

Penis problems

But what about these penis problems caused by anemia? They primarily relate to erectile issues. As most men know, a full supply of good, oxygen-rich blood is required for an erection. When a man becomes aroused, penile blood vessels expand so that oxygenated blood can fill the spongy tissue, causing the pen is to expand and harden. When the blood is less oxygenated, the erection may be less full.

In addition, lack of oxygen in the blood causes other penis problems. Too little oxygen has a negative impact on a man’s stamina. He has less energy and is less able to “perform” at his peak and so he may grow tired more quickly – sometimes resulting in a loss of erection during sex.

Another issue is that anemic blood causes the heart to work harder, in an effort to compensate for lack of oxygen. This can weaken the heart over time, so that it is more difficult to pump the extra volume of blood that is needed when a man is aroused.

Treatment

After a doctor diagnoses the cause of anemia, he can recommend the proper course of action to follow. As mentioned, increasing iron intake is often one common recommendation. Sometimes increasing other vitamins may be recommended. If there is another reason for the anemia, such as a genetic cause, more options may need to be explored.

Penis problems due to anemia can affect the overall health of the penis, so regular use of a first class penis health creme (health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven mild and safe for skin) is urged. It can be helpful to seek out a crème that contains L-arginine. This amino acid helps the body produce nitric oxide, which can play a role in helping penile blood vessels to expand when greater blood flow is needed. The crème should also include L-carnitine, which possesses neuroprotective properties that can maintain proper penis sensitivity which can be lost when the penis is handled roughly.

Strange Penis Problems? It Might be Anemia

Most men will do almost anything to avoid penis problems, and with good reason: Most penis problems are painful, itchy or otherwise a pain to deal with, not to mention putting a man out of commission when it comes to bedroom antics. However, there is one type of penis problem that sneaks up on a guy, leaving him feeling unable to enjoy himself as he should - and in this case, even the best penis care won’t help at first. The problem is anemia.

What’s anemia?

Anemia is a medical condition that affects every part of the body. It happens when a man’s body is lacking in red blood cells, or the red blood cells he does have aren’t working properly. This matters because red blood cells are responsible for carrying oxygen to all areas of the body. Where there are fewer red blood cells, there is less oxygen to go around. The problem results in a man feeling very tired, even heavily fatigued or exhausted - and that leads to a lack of sex drive, or even an inability to get it up when he is feeling frisky.

What causes anemia?

Anemia can be caused by many things, and sometimes more than one thing at once. The good news is that it can be easy to pinpoint where it’s coming from, so it can be more easily remedied.

1. Severe blood loss. A man who suffers an injury or illness that leads to significant blood loss is likely to develop anemia. The symptoms of anemia might strike well after the incident, even a few weeks after a man believes the worst is over.

2. Lack of iron in the body. A man who isn’t getting adequate iron in his diet will quite often become anemic. This occurs because iron creates hemoglobin, which is what the red blood cells actually use to carry the oxygen around the body. Less iron means less oxygen.

3. Hereditary or autoimmune conditions. Some medical issues, such as sickle cell anemia, autoimmune diseases or inherited conditions might mean that the body doesn’t produce enough red blood cells, or the ones it does produce are damaged in some way. The result is ultimately the same; the oxygen saturation of each cell is lacking.

4. Vitamin deficiencies. Our bodies need a delicate balance of vitamins and nutrients to stay healthy. When this balance is disrupted, several problems can result. A lack of vitamin B12, vitamin C or folic acid can all lead to anemia. Though for some people this stems from lack of proper nutrition, other individuals might have issues with absorbing or using those vitamins, even if they get plenty in their diet.

What happens if a man is anemic?

Besides feeling very tired and weak all the time, a man might suffer from related issues, such as shortness of breath. When it comes to penis problems, the most common issue is erectile dysfunction. This might mean either an inability to get it up, or a lack of appropriate hardness when he does manage to get his member to work. Stamina can also be affected, as a man with anemia might not feel like engaging in any sexual play, or might simply be unable to keep going during sexual activity.

What can be done about it?

The good news is that anemia can usually be treated very effectively. A doctor can help develop the best course of action. It might be as simple as changing the diet and taking supplements, or it might include blood transfusions or medications that enhance the red blood cell creation and delivery.

While being treated for anemia, a man should take care to keep his penis in top shape. That’s why a specially formulated penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven mild and safe for skin) is ideal. To help the body along, a man should look for a crème that contains vitamin C and D, which are both great for oxygenation, as well as L arginine, a nutrient that helps blood vessels expand.

Erect Penis Enemy Could Be Anemia

Many men take great pains to ensure their penis health in order to maintain an active sexual life, including the ability to experience an erect penis. Sometimes, when there is dysfunction in the erectile area, it’s possible that anemia may be playing a role in preventing the manhood from functioning correctly.

Explaining anemia
Anemia is one of those words that people hear all the time but may only have a vague understanding of what it means. So what is anemia?

According to the Mayo Clinic, anemia is "a condition in which (one doesn’t) have enough healthy red blood cells to carry adequate oxygen to the body's tissues." Red blood cells contain a protein called hemoglobin. This protein takes the oxygen that comes in through the lungs and transports it around the body so that the organs that require oxygen can get the oxygen that they need to function properly.

Guess what one of those organs is? That’s right: the penis. So having a properly-oxygenated penis is crucial.

Causes
There can be any number of causes of anemia, such as:

- Not enough iron. This is the one that most people associate with anemia - iron deficiency. Hemoglobin is made in the bone marrow, and one of the big components in making hemoglobin is iron. So when there’s not enough iron, there’s not enough hemoglobin and therefore not enough oxygen getting taken around the body - and thus there’s anemia.

- Not enough vitamins. Red blood cells also need a certain level of vitamin B12 and of folate in order to function properly. When a body doesn’t get enough of these two ingredients, it produces fewer red blood cells - which means there are fewer "taxis" available to take the oxygen around the body.

- Not enough blood. Iron deficiency and vitamin deficiency are kind "invisible" causes of anemia; loss of blood is present obvious. When a person loses blood - through a bad car accident, say - they are anemic until such time as they are able to replace the blood (usually through a blood transfusion). Because of the acute nature of this cause, it’s not typically associated with erect penis issues; most people who have lost a few pints of blood aren’t going to be in the mood for sex at the moment. (Of course, there are exceptions!)

- Hemolysis. Hemolysis refers to the destruction of red blood cells. This occurs naturally, usually when a red blood cell has reached the end of its useful life. In some people, however, the rate of red blood cell destruction can be too fast.

- Diseases and disorders. Many conditions, such as leukemia, kidney disease, aplastic anemia and sickle cell, can bring about an anemic state.

Erect penis affect
How might anemia affect an erect penis? Because a successful erection depends upon a rapid influx of oxygen-rich blood, the lack of sufficient oxygen can lead to a difficulty obtaining or maintaining an erection. This is relatively rare; more common is for a man with anemia to produce an erect penis, but for the erection to not feel as "full" or as "strong," due to the lack of oxygen.

It is also possible that, owing to the fatigue associated with anemia, an anemic man might have less stamina, making him less capable of enduring the exertion associated with vigorous sexual activity.
Working with a doctor to determine the cause of one’s anemia and the proper course of treatment is crucial for overall health, as well as for the specific health of the penis.

Anemia can be an enemy of an erect penis, so it’s vital that the organ’s global health be well maintained. Using a superior penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil) is strongly advised. L-arginine is an enzyme that helps produce nitric oxide, which in turns keeps penis blood vessels relaxed and receptive to adequate blood flow, allowing more oxygen to reach the penis. Therefore, a crème that contains this ingredient, along with vitamin C, is a good choice. Why vitamin C? Because of its role in collagen production and in promoting proper penile tissue firmness, by its role as a structural component of blood vessels.

Penis Problems and Anemia - Avoiding Loss of Erections

When a man feels tired, it can affect everything about him, including the perkiness of his penis. Since most men will do just about anything to avoid penis problems, taking steps to avoid anemia, which can have a negative impact on penis health, is strongly advised.

So what exactly is anemia anyway?
Simply put, anemia occurs when a person doesn’t have enough healthy red blood cells. Sometimes the problem is that there aren’t enough blood cells; sometimes it’s that the ones that are there aren’t healthy; and sometimes it’s a combination of both.

The red blood cells are the heavy lifters in carrying oxygen around to the body, so if they’re missing or defective, a body simply doesn’t get the oxygen it needs. No oxygen means no energy.

What causes anemia?

Anemia can be caused by a number of things, including:
  • Loss of blood . This is one of those no--brainers: if a person loses blood, he loses red blood cells, so if he loses too much blood, he’s going to have anemia. Fortunately, this kind of anemia is temporary (unless a guy just keeps on losing blood, in which case there may be a significant problem that needs to be treated.)
  • Genetics . Some people are born with inherited conditions, such as sickle cell anemia and thalassemia, that can affect the body’s ability to create healthy red blood cells. In these instances, the anemia can be long term and lasting, unless proper treatment is received.
  • Autoimmune problems . Sometimes, the body gets its signals mixed up and starts destroying perfectly healthy red blood cells faster than it can create new ones, creating an autoimmune issue.
  • Iron deficiency . This is a fairly common cause of anemia. Iron plays a part in creating hemoglobin, which is the substance in red blood cells that does the actual carrying of oxygen. So if the body is low on iron, it’s going to be low on oxygen as well.
  • Vitamin deficiency . As might be expected, this kind of anemia results when a person is lacking in the vitamins - folate, B12 and C - that play a role in creating healthy red blood cells.
What penis problems might anemia cause?

1. The most common effect that anemia can have on a guy’s manhood is erectile dysfunction. The penis is dependent upon a good supply of oxygen-rich blood to function properly. If that is lacking, it can dampen the degree of tumescence; in severe cases, it can be a significant effect.

2. Beyond the degree of firmness, anemia can also affect stamina. A lack of oxygen not only affects how long the penis will remain in prime condition; it also affects a man’s overall energy and ability to engage in sex: the arms get weak, the hips don’t thrust with the same vigor, etc.

3. Anemia also just has a deleterious effect on the general health of the penis, aside from its sexual performance. A healthy penis is one that is well oxygenated.

Fighting anemia

Some types of anemia require prolonged treatment under a doctor’s care. Fortunately, the more common iron deficiency and vitamin deficiency anemias can usually be treated through dietary changes.

Obviously, getting more iron in the diet is key to curing (or avoiding) iron deficiency anemia. One can try to take an iron supplement, or simply add more iron-rich foods to meals: beef, ham, spinach, broccoli, tofu, sweet potatoes, watermelon, kale - the list goes on and on.

Similarly, vitamin deficiency anemia is treated by supplements or foods that contain the vitamins in which a person is determined to be deficient - usually one or more of the following: folate, vitamin B12, vitamin C.

Avoiding anemia-related penis problems also means just keeping the penis in prime condition all around, and for that, use of a superior penis vitamin cream (health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil) should be a part of every man’s daily routine. Since lack of vitamin C is often a cause of anemia, pick a cream that includes this important vitamin, along with such other wonders as vitamins A and D. Further protect against anemia-related penile issues by applying a cream with L-arginine, which will keep blood vessels expanded and healthy.
