Male Multiple Orgasms: Myth or Fact?

Men have long been fascinated by the fact that women are capable of having multiple orgasms. Perhaps because so many men find their own orgasms to be so enjoyable, males are often curious as to whether they could ever be capable of experiencing those multiple waves of pleasure. And if so, how? Is it a matter of some lucky physical trait? Or is a man simply going to have to get used to the fact that one wonderful orgasm is enough and not be greedy about having more?

Multiple orgasms

What exactly is a multiple orgasm? There is debate over the exact definition of this oft-used phrase, but in general it refers to the ability to experience more than one orgasm during the same sexual situation (whether through partner sex or through masturbation). In general, there is some "down time" between the orgasms, usually a few minutes - although it can be shorter or longer.

Hard statistics are difficult to come by. One survey found that 15% of women have experienced multiple orgasms at least once, where another found the figure was 26%.

In women, the multiple orgasm is essentially dependent upon proper stimulation of the clitoris - which means that it needs to be neither over- nor under-stimulated. Since the clitoris can become very sensitive as a consequence of a first orgasm, finding the "just right" level of stimulation to achieve a second is especially tricky.

Men

Meanwhile, men are not usually built for multiple orgasms. Although it is possible to orgasm without ejaculation, usually the two are linked - and after ejaculation, a man’s physical processes typically begin making a second ejaculation difficult. Most notably, the penis tends to lose its erection rather quickly as blood is released from the organ.

Very few scientific studies have focused on male multiple orgasms. One 2016 study could only locate 15 peer-reviewed, published documents. Some of the documents are single case studies, such as a 2015 paper which examined a man who has regularly experienced multiple orgasms since he began ejaculating at age 15. During the study, he experienced six orgasms in the space of 36 minutes, maintaining his erection throughout. Another study documented an individual who experienced three orgasms, though he did not ejaculate until the final one.

Most studies seem to indicate that men who do experience multiple orgasms experience the first one with ejaculation, but that the subsequent ones are "dry." However, there are exceptions to this.

Although this has not been definitively proven, it appears that a man’s prolactin levels may determine whether he can orgasm multiple times. Prolactin is a hormone, the levels of which tend to rise in men after they orgasm. This seems to have a "dampening" effect on their libido. So while studies have not been done to prove this, it appears that men who can experience multiple orgasms may be doing so because they produce less prolactin - or perhaps because something overrides the prolactin after it is produced.

All of which is to say that yes, some men can indeed experience multiple orgasms - and perhaps one day, science will find a way to make this more achievable for more men.

When that day comes, a man wants his penis to be in good enough shape to withstand such ecstasy - so guys should daily apply a first class penis health creme (health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven mild and safe for skin). There are two ingredients in particular to watch out for in a crème: vitamin C and L-arginine. A guy wants vitamin C because it is a component of collagen, which keeps penis skin elastic and is vital for erections (as well as helpful for cardiovascular health). And L-arginine is an amino acid which helps the body produce nitric oxide - which in turn keeps penile blood vessels open for the increased blood flow which enables erections to occur.

Antioxidants and Penis Health: The Impact of Free Radicals on Male Function

In recent years, there has been a lot of talk about antioxidants and the important role they can play in maintaining a person’s health. But it’s probably fair to say that while many people may have heard of antioxidants, most people don’t necessarily know exactly what they are or why they are important. And men may be unaware of potential penis health benefits that antioxidants provide. It’s worth taking a moment to explore antioxidants and learn more about them.

What it is

Simply put, an antioxidant is "a molecule that inhibits the oxidation of other molecules." But what does that mean? Well, oxidation is a kind of chemical reaction, and when it occurs, free radicals are created. These free radicals are very sensitive toward other substances, and when they get busy, they can cause damage (often called oxidative stress) to cells, proteins and DNA.

So, basically, sometimes the body creates a process that can damage cells if left unchecked. Antioxidants exist to keep these reactions from happening.

Free radicals are associated with a host of problems, including cancer, Alzheimer’s, atherosclerosis, Parkinson’s disease and just general aging. But they also have good uses. Free radicals help turn air and food into energy and also are part of the body’s immune system.

As with so many things in nature, free radicals can cause damage or do good - it all depends on whether there are too many, too few or just enough of them.

Penis health

Antioxidants can play a role in keeping the body healthy by keeping free radicals in balance. But what specific role do antioxidants play in terms of penis health?

- Penis skin. The penis skin is very delicate and can react strongly to slight irritants. If oxidative stress is present, it can weaken and damage the skin, making it prone to dermatological issues as well as to infection and inflammation. An antioxidant can be a valuable tool for helping keep penis skin healthy.

- Erectile dysfunction. A 2011 study indicated that antioxidants can have a role to play in helping correct erectile dysfunction issues. The erectile process depends upon the penis being able to receive and accommodate an increased supply of blood. Nitric oxide is needed for this to happen, as this substance relaxes penile blood vessels, allowing them to more fully dilate and therefore receive more blood. However, one of the ways in which free radicals cause damage is by decreasing the amount of nitric oxide in the blood. The study authors found that antioxidants prevented this from happening, thereby making it easier for an erection to occur.

- Peyronie’s disease. More studies are needed in this area, but at least one study has found that free radicals may play a role in Peyronie’s disease, which causes an extreme bending of the penis. According to this study’s authors, oxidative stress is at least partly responsible for the creation of plaque build-up, which causes the severe curvature. It is believed that targeted therapy with antioxidants could play a role in preventing curvature and perhaps in helping to reverse existing plaque buildup.

Antioxidants can be found in many fruits and vegetables, but they may also be available in a penis-specific form via a first rate penis health creme (health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven mild and safe for skin). The best of these crèmes include one or more antioxidants. For example, alpha lipoic acid is a potent antioxidant that can help fight free radicals. In addition, antioxidants like L-carnitine can help protect the sensitivity of the penis, while the vitamin E also helps protect the penis skin by keeping it moist and hydrated.

Antioxidants for Healthy Penis Skin

Because many men think of their penis primarily in terms of its usefulness in sexual activities, they don’t always remember that good penis health means more than taking steps to ensure a solid working erection. But in fact, there are many different aspects of penis health, including taking steps to ensure healthy penis skin, both for practical and aesthetic reasons. Part of keeping penis skin healthy involves incorporating antioxidants into the penis care routine.

What are antioxidants?

On a technical level, an antioxidant is a molecule that helps keep other molecules from getting oxidized. Oxidation, in turn, is a chemical process that creates something called free radicals, which then can cause damage to cells, such as skin cells. They can also contribute to heart disease, cancer and other health conditions. However, not all free radicals are bad, and a certain amount of them are useful. For example, oxidation is important in helping the liver detoxify food and the body to help fight certain bacteria.

On a more-than-molecular level, antioxidants refers to those vitamins, minerals and nutrients that have an ability to keep those free radicals (and the damage they do) at bay.

How do antioxidants help skin?

Many skin care products are rich in antioxidants, because keeping oxidative stress from damaging skin cells helps ensure the health of skin. There are many things that can damage the skin, both on the surface and on a more molecular level. The stronger the skin is on the molecular level, the better it is able to withstand attacks on the surface level.

How does a person get antioxidants?

The body itself makes some antioxidants and depends upon a healthy diet to help supplement those amounts. Some foods are richer sources of antioxidants than others. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the following are some foods particularly high in antioxidants:

- Goji berries

- Wild blueberries

- Dark chocolate

- Pecans

- Artichokes

- Elderberries

- Kidney beans

- Cranberries

- Blackberries

- Cilantro

And these are some of the herbs that are very good sources of antioxidants:

- Clove

- Cinnamon

- Oregano

- Turmeric

- Cocoa

- Cumin

- Dried parsley

- Basil

- Ginger

- Thyme

As mentioned earlier, many skin care products are also good sources of antioxidants. This can be especially important because skin that is damaged by free radicals can be vulnerable - and unattractive as well.

Free radical damage is one of the things that leads to skin looking prematurely aged. It can contribute to drying out and to the cracks, wrinkles and blemishes that can mar otherwise attractive skin.

This is as true of penis skin as it is of skin elsewhere on the body. Penis skin is naturally delicate, so that the organ is more readily receptive to friction and stimulation. This can also make it more susceptible to cracking and wrinkling. When cracks appear on the penis skin, they can also open up a pathway for bacteria to get inside, creating further penis health concerns.

For this reason, penis skin needs to be exposed to a healthy level of antioxidants. One way to help achieve this is through the daily application of a first rate penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven mild and safe for skin) . Clearly, for it to be effective, the crème must include antioxidants. This can more readily be achieved if the crème contains vitamins A and C, as well as alpha lipoic acid. All three of these have antioxidant capabilities. Vitamin A has the added bonus of fighting bacteria that cause penis odor, while vitamin C also helps give penis skin its necessary tone and elasticity. Alpha lipoic acid has strong antioxidant properties on its own and also helps boost those of vitamin C.

Supporting Your Heart With Antioxidants May Benefit Your Romantic Life

It is medically recognized that men who are aged 50 and over are at higher risk of heart disease which can lead to sexual problems. When circulation cannot reach the genital region and there is not enough blood for a strong and sustainable erection then sexual dysfunction can arise. Vitamins and antioxidants specific for the heart and the penis can prevent such age-related problems, as well as treat symptoms when they arise. If you are taking prescribed medication, check with your healthcare provider before purchasing male health supplements. Topical formulas and health crèmes may be a safe option for most men.

Vitamin C

Medical evidence shows that vitamin C can help with erectile issues. Vitamin C is essential for circulation to the peripheries, including the hands, feet and the penis. Studies show that vitamin C improves the viscosity of the blood, allowing it to travel through the body more easily.

Vitamin C also reduces cholesterol, protects against atherosclerosis, increases nitric oxide (NO), and reduces the risk of stroke. Researchers from Firat University in Turkey also discovered that vitamin C significantly increases testosterone levels. When problems in the bedroom are linked with heart disease or poor cardiovascular health, vitamin C may be one of the most cost-effective and useful supplements to help.

Vitamin E

Vitamin E, also known as tocopherol, is found in seeds, nuts, grains and wheat germ. For many years scientists have been interested in the effects of vitamin E on the cardiovascular system as it helps to thin the blood, protect against cholesterol and heart disease and supports nerve sensitivity. Scientists from Alexandria University in Egypt studied the effects of vitamin E on erectile dysfunction, and found that vitamin E supplements helped to increase NO production and improve age-related erectile dysfunction. Other studies have shown that vitamin E also has a beneficial effect on testosterone levels, which are vital for energy, libido and male performance. If you are currently taking prescribed medication check with your doctor that vitamin E is right for you.

L-Arginine

Popular amongst the bodybuilding and athletic fraternity, L-arginine, plays a big part in healthy cardiovascular function, circulation and exercise performance. It functions as both an amino acid and an antioxidant in the human body. When L-arginine levels are high, the body uses it to produce NO, the enzyme that stimulates blood vessels to dilate. As well as enhancing systemic circulation, NO has a very specific role in a man's nether regions. For erections to occur, NO must first expand blood vessels in the penis, allowing blood to enter and harden the tissues. Without L-arginine, the body may not produce enough NO for healthy erections. Various studies have shown that L-arginine supplementation increases NO levels in the body, and has a clinically beneficial effect on erectile problems.

Penis Health Crèmes

Health crèmes containing antioxidants are beneficial for both heart health and penis health. Supporting your heart with antioxidants in penis crèmes may help to improve your romantic life. Firstly, by acting locally, penis health crèmes aid the look and feel of penis tissues by restoring integrity and antioxidant protection. Secondly, by facilitating improved circulation to the penis and improving blood vessel health. Specialized male health products (most professionals recommend Man1Man oil) contain vitamin C, vitamin E, L-arginine and other antioxidants for balanced, holistic support of male health. These nutrients bypass digestion and go straight to the tissues that really need them.
