Staying fit is a worthy goal, as physical exercise improves a man’s health and often makes a difference in his physical appeal to potential partners as well. And after a solid workout at the gym, many men relish the opportunity to spend some down time in the gym’s sauna or steam room, rewarding their sore muscles with some heat treatment. But while staying fit is good for a healthy penis, are there any penis health effects (good or bad) associated with using a sauna?
Consider these tips when looking into spending heat time after a workout.
1) Bye-bye toxins. One of the big benefits of a sauna is that it increases one’s sweat in a significant way - and this helps the body to more easily dispose of toxins lingering in the body, including those which can have an impact on the penis.
2) But watch out for dry skin. Of course, one of the other possible effects of spending too much time in a sauna is - ironically - dry skin. The more one sweats, the more one’s natural oils are depleted, and it’s those oils that help lock in moisture in the skin. So spending too much concentrated time (especially in a too-hot sauna) can sometimes damage delicate penis skin. So don’t overo it.
3) The blood effect. Similarly, there are good and bad effects in terms of blood and its impact on a healthy penis. The heated environment does encourage blood vessels to relax, while raising the pulse rate. Thus blood is able to more freely and readily circulate throughout the body, which is good for penis health. However, some people, especially those with a tendency to hypertension, may find that their blood pressure rises from the heat - and that doesn’t make the penis happy. Again, a guy needs to limit his exposure to a sauna to a moderate amount, especially if high blood pressure is an issue.
4) Stress relief. Stress is a big problem with many people today, and one of the ways it can manifest is in penis function issues. Fortunately, many people find that spending time in a sauna is very relaxing and helps them to de-stress. (Indeed, for many men, the combination of exercise and a sauna gets them feeling a bit frisky - much to their partner’s pleasure when they get back from the gym.)
5) Sperm aren’t big fans. As most men nowadays know, excess heat is not conducive to sperm production and in fact can severely limit production when the testicles are exposed to excess heat on a regular basis. It’s unlikely that spending 10 or 15 minutes in the sauna a few times a week will by itself harm sperm production. But if the testicles are kept overheated from other activities, or if a guy already has low sperm counts and is trying to sire a child, he may want to avoid the sauna for a while.
So the big takeaway re: a sauna and a healthy penis is to utilize it wisely and with moderation. And also, maintain that penis health by daily application of a superior penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven mild and safe for skin) . Guys spending serious sauna time should definitely use a crème with a combination of moisturizing agents, such as a high end emollient like shea butter and a natural hydrator like vitamin E. The penis skin will also better withstand sauna heat if the crème includes alpha lipoic acid, a potent antioxidant that protects penis skin from oxidative stress. Finally, be sure the crème contains vitamin A, the anti-bacterial properties of which can help handle annoying and persistent penis odor.
