Approved Treatment May Help Bent Penis

There are many ways to define what a man is, including personality, manner, strength, and many other characteristics—but very often, many men use their penis as a barometer of how manly they are. A man is more than his penis, clearly, but given the emphasis modern society places on this organ., it’s easy to see why some men feel this way. Unfortunately, if a man’s penis falls short in some department – penis health, length, utility, or appearance – it can then cause self-esteem issues. Such is sometimes the case when a man presents with a very bent penis. This abnormal shaping of his penis may bring about anxiety and depression, as well as impact his ability to perform. Men with a bent penis of such a degree would benefit from treatment.

Peyronie’s disease

It’s important to realize that some curvature of the penis is not at all unusual. While some men have an erect penis that is perfectly straight, many also have a penis that features a little curve to it – up, down, left, or right. Not only is that normal, but some people prefer this, feeling it gives the penis a little extra distinction.

But when the penis is bent to such a degree as to become painful or to impede function, then a man has a problem. Such a bent penis is usually classified as having Peyronie’s disease. Extreme curvature of this sort can be caused by several things, including severe penile trauma (such as being hit very hard on the penis). Sometimes it may be caused by less severe trauma but repeated over time. A connective tissue disorder may be responsible, or there may be a genetic component at work as well.

In these cases, plaque builds up in the penis. Penile tissue is very flexible, as it has to be in order for the penis to grow and stretch during erections. Plaque is not flexible, so if an area of tissue becomes infected with plaque, it isn’t able to grow as much as other parts of the penis—and this causes the bent penis to occur and, sometimes, this also causes pain to appear during an erection.

Treatment

Until recently, there has been no FDA-approved treatment for Peyronie’s disease. But there have been “off label” attempts to treat the condition. For example, some men found that using penis stretchers over a long period of time in some instances helped reduce the curvature. Others reported that injections of a specific high blood pressure drug also had helped in some cases.

But it was not until 2014 thatthe FDA approved a drug, called Xiaflex, specifically for Peyronie’s disease. Xiaflex is injected into the plaque four times, with the goal of destroying at least some of the plaque. The drug is not effective in all men, and its aim is to reduce rather than totally eliminate the bend in the penis—but most men with Peyronie’s would welcome an improvement if not a total cure.

It’s thought that the treatment has a better chance of working if it is applied earlier in the stages of plaque buildup. Men who are worried that they may have Peyronie’s disease should consult with a urologist to determine if this is the case and then discuss treatment options.

Treatment for a bent penis is part of a good penis health regimen. So is daily application of a top-notch penis health creme (health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven mild and safe for skin). Look for a crème with both vitamin C and L-carnitine. Vitamin C is well known for fighting colds, but it is also a key component of collagen, a tissue in the body that gives skin its tone and elasticity. And L-carnitine has neuroprotective properties that can protect against loss of penis sensation, a common side effect of plaque buildup in the penis.

Penis Skin Care – Try a Spa Treatment

In caveman days, men probably didn’t particularly care about how their penis skin looked. After a hard day of hunting, starting a fire with a couple of sticks and dodging large, beastly predators, penis care was not necessarily uppermost in their minds. But nowadays, with most men having more time to worry about things like the state of their penis skin, more and more take an interest in what kind of a signal their penis sends to partners. Does it look healthy? Disease free? Bereft of flakiness or red patches? And so the modern man may consider using a spa-styled treatment or two on his penis to give the skin an extra attractiveness.

Not in a spa

Although there are exceptions, most spas do not readily offer a treatment specifically aimed at penis skin. For that reason, guys interested in a spa treatment experience for their own penis skin will typically have to resort to a DIY solution. With that in mind, the following tips may prove valuable.

Start with a soak

A shower is nice and an easy way to keep things clean on a daily basis, but a spa treatment is all about pampering the skin - and that requires taking time with things. Begin by drawing a bath and giving the penis a nice, long, slow soak. Be sure the water is comfortably warm. Cold won’t relax the skin properly, and hot will deplete the skin of natural oils, which are essential for proper penis skin moisturization. And keep the water plain; don’t add bath salts or fragrances. Penis skin is delicate, and chemicals can have a deleterious effect on it.

Intact men will need to take a little time to peel back the foreskin and gently rub beneath the hood to ensure that any built-up debris gets washed away. But aside from that, the goal is just to relax in the bath for a good 10 or 15 minutes, letting the skin soak up hydration.

When finished, be sure to pat the skin dry with a soft towel, rather than briskly rubbing with a rough one.

Consider exfoliating

A big part of normal skin care is exfoliating - rubbing away dead skin cells to allow fresher, newer skin to arise. It’s true that exfoliating tends to make skin look healthier and more vibrant; however, care must be taken when exfoliating the penis skin, due to its extreme delicacy and sensitivity. Rather than using a rough pumice stone, take a smooth washcloth and gently wipe the entire length if the penis, both on top and underneath.

Bring on the moisturizer

With the skin still slightly damp, a moisturizer needs to be applied. Moisturizers are intended not so much to create new moisture as to help "lock in’ the moisture that is already on the skin. After a warm bath, the skin pores are more open, so they are better able to absorb the moisturizer and store it. Be sure to use natural moisturizing ingredients, or a crème that includes them. (This can be an excellent time to use a penis health crème, if it has the proper moisturizing ability.)

Air out

Allow enough time to let the penis "air out" for a while after the bath. This helps prevent or diminish persistent penis odor.

A spa treatment to help strengthen the penis skin will be most effective if a man regularly uses a top drawer penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven mild and safe for skin) . The chosen crème should supply both a high-end emollient (such as Shea butter) and a natural hydrator (such as vitamin E) to effectively moisturize the skin. It should also include vitamin A, which has anti-bacterial properties to help fight unwanted and unpleasant penis odor.
